I'm pretty dependent on Quicken. (widoze) I have a new install of Wine 1.1.14. Installed IE6 because Quicken would not work with built-in IExplorer. Program works pretty good. Many features require that the program be registered. I run Quicken then select On-line Registration from the Help Menu: blair at exercise:~$ wine c:\\"Program Files"\\Quicken\\qw.exe

Hey Austin, I am having problem with Quicken 2008 as well. It installs properly. It even runs. However, after selecting a data file, Quicken immediately closes, all trace of it gone. Ideas?

This worked just fine. Quicken installed very nicely. Now, however, the programs loads and asked for a data file to open, when you select one and click OK, the program begins to go to the next screen then shuts down. Wonder what could cause that?

I'm new to Ubuntu and Wine. I've installed Wine (x.x.29) on Ubuntu 9.04, then installed Quicken Deluxe 2009. It seems to work fine but when I attempt to register Quicken I get a page of garbage. Of course Intuit Support is worthless. Somebody out there must work around this problem.

I have been a Quicken user for many years but my upgrade to Mac Lion has ruined that good experience. It seems you do not care about Apple users.

Will give it a try. However the winetricks did allow that part of the program to run. It now freezes at the point you try to register the program. It would not respect the wine internet explorer, so i used winetricks to do the fake, then to actually install ie6. Ie6 is missing the menu bar. quicken 2008 deluxe Release9 running on Ubuntu I was able to install the application and run it upto the point that one either creates accounts or loads a previously created data file (in windows). At that point, the entire application disappears and one is back to the Ubuntu desktop.

I just installed Quicken 2001 using the 0914 version of Wine built from source code on my Fedora Core 2 machine. I followed the Quicken install instruction #2 on Franks Corner site. I know this is a newbe question, but Step three is mixing me up $wine your_installer Does this refer to the Quicken installer.exe? if so why do we repeat this step at the end, and if not what does it refer to? Is there a way to access a folder on my NTFS partition? I have a dual-boot system and the Quicken data files reside on the NTFS partition. From Wine Configuration > Drives, I see no listing for the Windows partition even though the media is mounted on my Desktop. Thanks, Blair

I have been running Quicken 2009 for over a year successfully and the appDB shows Quicken 2011 works well. Because of Quicken's support policy, I am forced to upgrade to Quicken 2012. I have been unable to run it succesfully under Wine 1.3.37. Anyone have any tips? I have filed a bug just in case the issue is not purely local.
