Question about gamma changing...
I need to know exactly how Wine tells the X server to change gamma settings... so gamma controls in games can work. Basically I need to know.. when a game has like a gamma adjust bar, and it moves... what specifically happens behind the scenes.
I need to know this because right now Xquartz on Mac OS X does not support doing this at all, and I'd like to be able to add that ability into it...

Prepare > Properties in Office 2007 causes WINE to freeze
I'm using 64-bit (multilib) Gentoo/Sabayon Linux with the Portage source package manager only:

I used the Portage package manager to install 64-bit WINE with both win32 and win64 support:
Code:

Gcc error during make depend/make of latest Git-Wine source.
I'm on Linux Mint Fluxbox CE 5 trying to compile the latest Git source. I previously had Wine 1.0 something from the Synaptic repos, and wanted bleeding edge so I did
Code:
$ aptitude remove wine
and then followed the Wine + Git instructions. After the repo was cloned I ran ./configure, installed a couple dependencies and libfreetype-dev, and the config script then ran fine. Then I

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.18.99.2
I think we're ready for RC1 at this point, but wanted to give people a
chance to scream about "just one more API change" until tomorrow. Let me
know if there's something I'm missing; if I don't hear anything, I'll be
tagging RC1 in the morning.

Newsgroup or WineHQ?
I am new to Wine although I'm not new to Linux. I have posted a couple
of bug reports at WineHQ. Then I noticed bug reports showing up here. Am
I contacting the wrong place? I also submitted a patch for one of those
bugs. Now I'm wondering if there is anybody at WineHQ to see that patch.
Should I post my patch here?
Also, I can open an ftp to winehq but then I can't cd to pub, or ls

Using the WINE Program with Sun's Solaris system
Hi.
I was trying to use the WINE program on Sun's Solaris 10 UNIX operating system, x86-64 version. It seems I can't run many applications as they often give this error:
"err:module:load_builtin_dll failed to load .so lib for builtin L"ws2_32.dll": ld.so.1: wine: fatal: libnsl.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory

Audio problem.
Hi.
I've noticed audio problems when using Wine on Sun's Solaris 10 UNIX system. When I go to run a program that uses audio, like a game, it seems not to be synchronized properly and skips some. What's up with that, anyway? I noticed some messages about not being able to find "SUNW,oss" and also this, if it has any relevancy:
"fixme:mpeg3:mp3_horse Error occurred

Weird OpenGL problems
Hi,
I have been a happy Wine user for a few years now, but only recently moved from x86 to amd64, and I think that is the source of my current problems with Wine.
I'm able to run native OpenGL applications just fine. Examples of what I've tried are Quake 3, Blender, and Kobo Deluxe.
Wine also works normally just fine. I'm able to install applications, run notepad, regedit, et

Question about vidmode switching (WoW related)
Hello. Hopefully I didn't miss this in the archives, so here goes.
I've been running World of Warcraft in the CVS version of wine. The game
runs perfectly as far as I'm concerned. However, if I run the game at a
resolution lower than the desktop resolution it's not quite right. It
switches to a view port of the specified size rather than resizing the
whole desktop. this means I

I once had a similar problem with Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. The game's menu screen is hard coded for 800x600. As I understand it, Wine uses the xrandr extension to change resolutions.

building xvm-3.4 gate on indiana
There seems to be no list of needed packages, when starting with a fresh
opensolaris dev (b121 today).
hg
gmake
I guessed by now.
Additionally the stuff mentioned here:
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/indiana/building_on/
But are there further packages needed?
Maybe some one should add a verified list to the building howtos...
