BSD-licensed IDS/IDP Software?
I seem to remember seeing somewhere (on this list/on the web -- don't remember) that there was some ``Snort-like'' software that was available under the BSD license. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find any information about such software. Was I dreaming, or can anybody else jog my memory? :) Kind regards, Devon H. O'Dell

Trouble running iTunes 10.5.2 in Wine under Ubuntu 11.10

I have used ubuntu as a tool to partition and format hard drives a bunch of times, but recently installed it on a 7 year old laptop because windows is just too much for it nowadays. Anyway, I was curious if I could get iTunes to run. After a little research I installed wine and then iTunes. I was lucky that any of it worked. I don't know how to

fallback source give up and returns to original source
I forgot to mention that the patched version seams to work fine, except that one of the listener (curl | oggdec | ices) don't like the source content change. I have to search for that. Video capture under CentOS
I recently purchased a Diamond VC500 video capture device that runs on the USB. It has some interesting issues under Windoze, but I was wondering: I did a google for video catpreu and linux and most of what I found either said it can't be done or the software that did/does it is obsolete. Can anyone point me in a better direction (and which way)? Thanks. mhr

The question is: what would you suggest as an easy-to-use yum-installable app that could handle a couple of minutes/hours of recording? People who are about to use it are complete noobs, and I would like to give them a

CentOS 6.3 on ASUS G73S does not work external video
Hi List, just wondering which driver I need to be looking at / for that deals with the laptop's external video connector. Background - went to deliver a presentation last week and found that there was no way to get any video output to the external D-15 connector (hooked up to a video projector).
