Just Cause segfaults
I was trying to get this older game to work. There are 2 entries in appdb, one says it works fine and the other says it doesn't work, but neither give any useful information. When I launch the game it goes to the main menu fine, but when I click 'new game' it goes to a loading screen and after a little bit it segfaults. After talking to someone in the irc channel, I tried attaching

Debugging 64-bit Wine Apps with winedbg
Hello, we're the developers of a large 64-bit Windows application that uses Wine 1.3.0 64-bit on Linux. When testing began we discovered several crashes inside our windows code on startup and needed to debug them. But the problem seems to be getting any kind of stack trace information from the 64-bit winedbg. This used to work with the 32-bit version of winedbg. Even if I write a 64-bit

debugging an app which crashes my Window manager?
Hi all I'm running a Win32 application, Ecco Pro, under Wine on my Gentoo Linux system. The app is 'mostly working' but there are some circumstances where it repeatably crashes. I'd like to investigate further to see if I can improve things. I have an embedded systems & windows programming background, so I'm confident I have some of the skills; however I'm a novice

Debugging Leage of Legends
I would really like to get this program working, and I'm willing to learn to develop and fix the problem myself. I was able to get a backtrace but I'm having trouble determining what it actually means as I've never read a backtrace before. If anyone would be willing to help me shed some light on this it would be appreciated, thanks in advance! drew212 at drew212-desktop:~$ winedbg

City of Heroes / wine not identifying NVIDIA video card
I've been using wine for some time now to play City of Heroes and overall I've been very satisfied. One issue that has always bothered me is that COH gives a warning about outdated video card drivers even with the most recent drivers from NVIDIA installed. This limits the settings that can be chosen in the video options. I also suspect it's not making the most efficient use of my

Problems with compiz, fglrx, and City of Heroes
I just upgraded my video card from an 8800GT to a Radeon HD 5770. I've got the proprietary 'fglrx' driver installed. I am using Compiz/Emerald as my window manager and compositor, with the desktop cube enabled. When I launch City of Heroes full-screen and then try to rotate the cube via hotkey the cube rotates to a new face and immediately repaints City of Heroes over the top of it.

source level debugging with WineLib?
Hello, We just started using WineLib, and have very basic question: which -g??? option do you use to do source level debugging with winedbg? I searched the documentation and mailing list for any step-by-step about this, but found nothing. So either the answer is so obvious that I just can't see it - or it doesn't work? By default, winemaker seems configure things for no debug - so

Debugging Onyx install

can't find array overruns (was: help debugging segfaults)
Dear R-devel, Last week I got several responses to my question about debugging segfaults in my code (original post below). After I changed the S_alloc() calls to Calloc()/Free(), the symptom was gone, but I was told to keep looking. So I did: o Switched to Calloc/Free. Electric Fence did not find any problem. o Put assert(index < bound); assert(index >=0); everywhere in the C routine

LoadOEMResource crash [Was: Re: Problem report: SHRINKER.ERR, fix to DEVICE_Open/CreateFileA? ]
Hi Pavel, Can you run your app under winedbg? When I run my app under winedbg, it segfaults inside the application code with a bad read access. The specific instruction it faults on is movl 0x10(%esi),%eax (aka mov [esi+0x10],eax for IDA users). I'm curious to know if your app uses the same library as mine... --Rob
