VP3/QT: Fix for QuickTime 6 GDI bug
QuickTime 6 for Windows breaks the VP3 codec quite severely--if you turn on "Safe Mode" (which forces QuickTime to draw through GDI), you'll see a white or black screen instead of video. This is logged as bug #2111990 in Apple's QuickTime feedback system. The fix is a classic one-liner, although it took me a long time to figure it out. :-/
Also attached is a patch to bump the

Opus RTP/RTSP support
Dear Opus developers.
This is the first time I write here, so hello to everybody!
Sorry to disturb you but I would like to ask you something I could not
answer by googling and by looking at this mailing list archive.
I have just started investigating this new and promising codec for
real-time audio transport over the internet for industrial applications.
I was previously experimenting with RTP

[Flac-users] Quicktime plug-in?
try this site first:
http://qtcomponents.sourceforge.net/
I don't think they have flac yet, but they were the ones working on
vorbis for quicktime (and thus iTunes)... and someone started a speex
project there too. If someone would volunteer to add a flac component,
I'm sure it would happen. Check their user support forums... there has
been interest for a flac component. This is

transcoding to theora from quicktime using xiphqt
Hi,
I'm trying to convert some quicktime files into Ogg/Theora using the
Xiph QuickTime Components version 1.8.
The end goal is to stream these files using apache httpd and the cortado
applet (and hopefully the embedded players that will be in Firefox
soon).
Using iMovie DV on OS X 10.4.11 (intel) I'm able to export as an ogg
movie, however the resultant file has problems with audio on

Maxon's Cinema4D Net Client debugging messages
Hi,
I'm trying to run Maxon's Cinema4D Net Client (a 3D rendering software)
with today's CVS-version of wine configured w/o any options, which does
not work at all. Other Windows software, such as Puttyor Winzip runs
just fine (haven't tried anything else).
With the C4D client, without debugging turned on, only a simple
"Internal error: String resource not found!" pops

RTP/RTSP streaming of GSM or ADPCM audio
Greetings:
It would be nice if Icecast supported RTSP; however I would
appreciate any suggestions for a small RTSP/RTP solution to
encode 8kHz mono audio in GSM or ADPCM and service multiple
unicast client connections. The ideal would be a black-box
hardware solution with an audio input and ethernet interface
similar to broadcast studio IP audio links or the network
audio capabilities of certain

RTSP reflection.
Hi
Where do I find instruction to configure icecast as a reflect server for
rtsp?
Scenario:
Client1 sends audio to IceCast via rtsp
Client2 receives audio from IceCast via rtsp.
I need to just setup this behaviour..

Ogg Vorbis compatible with Darwin Streaming Server?
Hi,
I saw the documentation "RTP Payload Format for Vorbis Encoded Audio".
My question: The Darwin Streaming Server (OpenSource and free for
several plattforms) streams media with RTSP/RTP.
For more information:
http://www.publicsource.apple.com/projects/streaming/
I know that a QuickTime Component of Ogg Vorbis
(compressor/decompressor) in progress. (Thanks guys) Could I stream Ogg

RTSP Traffic over UDP
Hello All,
I''m running performance tests on a Linux router using IPTables to nat traffic over the network. I have a MS Media streamer,
and two windows clients behind the router which download video from the streamer. I can then measure performance.
MS Media player rolls amongst protocols until it finds one it can use as follows
RTSP UDP
RTSP TCP
MMS UDP
MMS TCP
HTTP

Support for IP Camera streaming (RTSP) channel to a conference
Hello,
I am trying to stream an IP Camera output (h264) into a conference. The IP Camera supports RTSP.
Searching around the web, I believe the RTSP support (was) available through app_rtsp (external to Asterisk distribution).
This, I believe, has problems and has issues compiling in Asterisk 11 (I tried compiling it in Asterisk 11 and it failed).
I may not be able to use DiaStar or i6net's

CentOS 7 and gstreamer1 rtsp-server
I am playing with gstreamer on CentOS 7.1 .
All the packages are there except gst-rtsp-server....
OK - So I went to look for it to compile it. Found a version
that was NOT 1.0.7 and my compile stopped because it said the
versions are not the same.... OK
so went back to look for 1.0.7 and its not there.
I looked at:

Any thoughts on how I

XiphQT with Thusnelda for QuickTime X
Any progress in this issue? Or is the whole XiphQT project dead?
Any 64bit package of XiphQT for MacOSX Snow Leopard on its way? Any solution on its way, which works with Quicktime X on Snow Leopard and which doesn't urge/force you to install and use the old Quicktime 7 player? Any solution on its way, solving the /Library/Components problem on MacOSX Snow Leopard/Quicktime X?

RTSP problems (and SNAT questions)
I am having problems making RTSP connections to a Windows Streaming Media
Server (ie "connecting to media...." but WMP never connects). There are no
error messages in /var/log/messages. It was suggested to me that SNAT might
perform better than MASQ in this respect.
I edited my shorewall/masq file as such:

or should it be?

patch for native iphone support
Here is a patch for icecast 2.3.2 that adds support for listening to mp3 and
aac+ streams on the iphone.
A quick background on the technical aspects of the patch and why it is
needed :
With the advent of 3g on the iphone, lots of people have been jumping on the
bandwagon of providing internet radio streams that work on the iPhone. The
biggest problem is that (without having to install an
