Running ChildView under Wine 20021031 - Codepage 850?
Hello fellow Wine users: I'm in the process of moving all our desktops over from Windows 98 to Linux (via LTSP), and we've got everything aced except for one &*!^* app. We've run Amicus Attorney underneath wine for some time now, and it works a treat. However, Childview has proved to be... somewhat more reluctant. As far as apps go, it isn't that complicated. It's

[PATCH] Add internal documentation to C files.
As in libvirt, allow internal documentation comments in C files. These are marked using '/**' comments. Unlike libvirt which has an ill-defined and inconsistent markup, the markup we use is Perl POD. These comments are added to guestfs-internals(1), but are most likely to be read in-place. This commit changes some existing comments in src/launch.c to demonstrate how this can be used.

BUG: samba-3.0.14a & samba-3.0.20pre2 endless loop AIX 5.3 (jfs2) & Win98
Hi, I have replaced an older AIX system with a new one running AIX 5.3, all the latest patches. It is acting as a PDC (I think irrelevant). The old server was running AIX 4.3.2 with Samba 3.0.14a (upgraded from 2.0.7) , and was working 100% fine. I had the old server running 3.0.14a for 6 weeks prior to the upgrade as part of my migration plan. There are Windows 98 boxes that connect to

Trouble with Rails/Ri18n
Hi, I am new to Ruby/Rails but totally fall in love with :D Nonetheless, today I am totally stuck with Ri18n. I basically followed the 10 Steps to Make Your Rails Apps Multilingual. No errors are thrown, the english version works as before with the freshly added <%= _('''') %> Still, no translations are performed. Setting I18nService.instance.lang = ''de''

(no subject)
I'm having a problem with files locking so that every time the are opened up they are opened as Read-Only. Windows doesn't see them as readonly but Samba thinks that they are write=no and so they can't be saved or deleted. I've included a log, my smb.conf, and a getfacl of a user's home directory as well as a getfacl of the directory from /home. Any help would be

Incomplete dir listing (ext2fs / FreeBSD)
Hi, I moved a disk with ext2fs from a Linux box (SuSE) into my FreeBSD6.2 box. Some directories on that disk are shared to my Windows boxes via v3.0.26a (according to smbd -V). A couple of directories contain a large number of files (hundreds to thousands). The list of files is incomplete using Windows clients or smbclient on FreeBSD. If I copy the directories to a disk using ufs, the file

Problem with listing a share
Hi, I have a strange problem listing a share with, e.g. # ls -al /path/to/share I have a samba-client-3.5.4-68.el6_0.2.x86_64 on a Scientific Linux 6 (as a virtual machine - if it matters) and an samba-3.0.33-0.30.el4 server on a RHEL4. When I try the listed command I get the following in the servers logfile (on log lever = 3): [2011/04/29 16:29:39, 3, effective(0, 0), real(0, 0)]

Maildir unreliability
Looks like maildir can't be used very realiably without quite a lot of locking. Writing and scanning the directory would have to be locked, but reading wouldn't (as long as the file hasn't been renamed which would require scanning to find it). So much for "no locks needed".. The problem is that opendir()/readdir() may temporarily not return some files if there has been

scp man page: source vs. destination
As a fairly experienced Unix user, it's obvious to me that scp copies files from left to right -- that is, that the last [host:]file on the command line is the destination. However, this might not be so obvious to users with less experience. It pains me to suggest this, but perhaps the scp man page should be edited to make this more obvious. For example, from the [Free]BSD cp(1) man

readLines() behaves differently for gzfile connection
Would it be possible to get that file or a representative subset of it somewhere so that I can reproduce this? [PATCH libnbd 0/4] Miscellaneous Rust cleanups
Add an overview libnbd-rust(3) man page pointing to the real documentation. This is like OCaml & Golang. When reviewing the real rustdocs I noticed they basically converted the man pages into plain text, resulting in lots of problems such as internal links not working, no `code` annotations, etc. So I wrote a simple POD to rustdoc translator. It is by no means perfect, but it fixes many of
