Samba+MYOB
Hello all,
We are experiencing problems using MYOB Premier V6.0.2 on Windows 2000
computers SP3, with the data file residing on shared drive on Linux (Redhat
7.2) file server running Samba Version 2.2.1a and kernel 2.4.9-34.
The MYOB Tech support have told me that it is a problem with our network but
could not give me any hints where the problem might be.
The MYOB database has been corrupted

Re: Printing /MYOB
Several months ago, I installed MYOB and everything seemed to be working. Using F8 kde.
Now I'm getting similar results as the above complaints. I think this may have happened after the updater installed updates. Various tabs don't work in the MYOB and it's printing blank pages for receipts and invoices. Other printing from Myob seems to be ok. Using HP network printer and cups.

Re: Printing /MYOB
I had forgotten to mention... really sorry, but could be a major clue. F6 had a printing issue with MYOB and so did the first several releases of F8. I didn't close out our XP system until I had MYOB fully functional with F8 and that was FEB/MAR time frame. One of the updates around end of Feb. started it (MYOB) working for us. Then I killed the last M$ system we had.

XP clients regularly lose connection
Hi,
We have Samba 2.2.8 on RedHat 9.0 (from rpm).
We connect about 5 Win XP Professional PC's (with Service Pack 1)
to the server.
Roaming profiles are set up.
After about 30 minutes client connections are lost to the server and
the users cannot reconnect to the server, even if samba is restarted.
A reboot of the server is required.
This occurs, it seems at this stage, when large

Re: Printing /MYOB
It's whatever was current release during March. I have no way of doing regression tests, nor determining which broke what. IMHO the kernel is a suspect too, and March was a lot of upgrades ago for F8. The target system (F8KDE) gets used for MYOB about once a week and printing invoices about once a month, it took awhile before we discovered the system was really broken, we had initially

MYOB Performance issues on Samba
I am experiencing a performance issue with MYOB accounting package being
served from a Debian 2.4.18 based server running samba. Clients are
Win2K/WinXP clients in a small workgroup environment, all maping drive
to samba 'data' share. Network is pure TCP/IP, no other (MS or Samba)
servers on LAN.
I've experimented with Oplocks and veto oplocks but to no result the
performance of

Optimise Samba for MYOB
First a short background of the situation,
My work ran a MYOB file from a MS 2000 server. They were getting problems
such as the,
"cannot send messages to so-and-so. blah blah blah..."
They were planning to upgrade to MS 2003 in an attempt to eradicate all
error messages and remove the lag sometimes experienced when opening a large
list.
Since i am a linux fan i suggested giving

MYOB Premier
G'day all,
I'm getting closer to realising my dream of running MYOB (an Australian
accounting package - used by 2 in 5 Aust small business) under WINE.
On startup, as the different pull-down menus begin to manifest, I get
the following message appear on screen: (from MYOB)
"FALT is needs that bit cleared" with an OK box. I must say, I
absolutely *love* the grammar in the

Win4Lin, MYOB, Samba & Performance
I'm having performance problems that seem to involve SAMBA in the
equation so I thought I'd ask if there was something obvious I'm
stuffing up or a known anomoly.
A mate of mine runs MYOB Premier (the brilliant (not!) multi-user
accounting package which claims to not support SAMBA (or visa versa).
I've had it running glitch free for two years on a Samba share off a
linux box.

multi user access to 1 data file
I am running v2.0.7 and have set up a network drive for an accounting ledger system. The software is called MYOB and is quite popular in Australia. This is the first time I have to deal with multi user access to 1 data file.
My setup is:
Global
oplocks = yes
socket options = TCP_NODELAY
socket options = IPTOS_LOWDELAY
[MYOB]
path=/home/office/MYOB
force group = office
directory mask = 0770

New apps for wine
Hi all this is my first post, so if I need to be directed to other places, thanks for the assistance in advance.
I,ve been attempting to wean my family off windoze for some time, and now have a few boxes and laptops running fc8.
I've set up the latest version of Wine and have successfully installed Myob v13 (with a few glitches: date format is not correct for Australia, despite altering the

Re: Printing /MYOB
Over the last month I think two wine updates came in. I don't know if it was a core update or if they were other component updates. I know on the Fedora, there seems to be major updates every few days. I don't know which broke what. All I know for sure is that MYOB was working and now we can't use it. We have invoices to post and mail and can't.

Am I attempting the impossible?
Hi all,
After Googling around a while, I've found bits and pieces of my
puzzle, but never someone who's got the whole thing. Here's what I'm
trying:
- Run MS Access 97 and MYOB
- Under FreeBSD 5.3
- With multiple simultaneous users (X Terminals)
Access 97 and MYOB are the only Windows programs we'll need to run,
everything else will be done with "native"

[PATCH] Btrfs: fix crash in scrub repair code when device is missing
Fix that when scrub tries to repair an I/O or checksum error and one of
the devices containing the mirror is missing, it crashes in bio_add_page
because the bdev is a NULL pointer for missing devices.
