How to instruct Wine to use MSIE rendering engine by default instead of Gecko?
Hi, I need to debug some complex Javascript that leaks in MSIE (no leaks in Firefox though). For this purpose, I am trying to utilize programs like Drip and sIEve. Both programs fail under Wine, and my guess is, they try to use Gecko as the rendering engine (and this is not what's desired: Gecko works fine with my stuff). Now, provided that MSIE can be installed under Wine, and works, can

Wine Gecko download problems on Kubuntu 10.10 w/Wine 1.3.28
I can't seem to get wine to recognize my installation of Wine Gecko 1.3 at all. I have the Wine PPA added to my sources already and have installed the 'wine1.3-gecko' package using Synaptic (personal preference over Kpackagekit or Muon) along with of course the actual wine 1.3 package and the symbol font replacement package for 1.3. I have also tried the 'manual install'

Wine Gecko 0.9.0
The announcement of Wine 1.1.12 mentions a new version of Wine Gecko, version 0.9.0. I have two questions: 1. What version of Gecko is this based on? Will this improve the way installed apps render pages? 2. How will this affect existing programs that have Wine Gecko 0.1.0 in their Wine environment? I have the old cab file in /usr/share/wine/gecko which gets installed whenever I wineboot. Will

html rendering and gecko on a winmx install wine 1.1.11
opensuse 11.2 64 bit I have downloaded and compiled/installed wine 1.1.11, so that I may use a windows program called WinMX 3.54b4 [32 bit] on my linux opensuse distro. I had been advised that Wine versions higher than this do not work well with WinMX. At the end of the compile it tells me that libgphoto2-32bit was not found and that cameras won't work. I check in Yast2 to see if it can

Wine should use Mono and Gecko installed in the system
Wine FAQ says Wine is not an emulator, but in fact, it works like an emulator - it does not enhance Linux API, but simply creates a virtual Windows environment completely isolated from other parts of the system. * If one runs a .NET based program, Wine requires Win32 Mono to be installed under Wine, instead of Mono already installed in the system. * If a program tries to do html rendering, Wine

Pre-downloaded Wine Gecko Installer?
Hi, I've been doing a lot of testing in isolated WINEPREFIX environments. So, I'm constantly creating new .wine folders and having to run winecfg to set them up. Well, each time I do this, I have to watch the Wine Gecko Installer progress bar, and sometimes it can be slow (like if my internet connection is bogged up). I wish I could keep a local copy that WINE would pull instead of

Installing wine-gecko locally
I seem to remember seeing something about being able to install wine-gecko on your local machine (though not in ~/.wine, but rather somewhere like /usr/local). Anyone know anything about this? I'm downloading it alot for bug triage, and wouldn't mind caching it locally. -Austin

Installing gecko in wine with proxy
Hi, I am currently trying to make an app work under wine, and it needs gecko. The automatic installer pop-up, but can't download anything. I think it's because I'm behind a proxy, but I don't know how to configure it. -- Colin Pitrat (Bull Services Telco) Bull, Architect of an Open World (TM) T?l : +33 (0) 1 30 80 72 93 www.bull.com -------------- next part -------------- A
