donations / wishlist
Since some people don't like Paypal and other people have been telling me for years to create Amazon wishlist, I figured I'd finally do it. http://dovecot.org/donate.html now contains URL to the wishlist. Currently it mostly contains all kinds of TV series DVDs (feel free to laugh at what I watch :), but I also managed to remember a couple of books I wanted. -------------- next part

Re: one step closer to Flash MX 2004 installation
As one last option, try installing Internet Explorer - the installer might be depending on stuff that it provides. It may simply be a deficiency in Wine. File a bug report, and please post your experiences in the AppDB page for it here: http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=2294 If you want to maintain the app and test it with new wine versions, feel free. Thanks, Scott Ritchie On

We are trialing UBUNTU on my son's computer and want to load WINE so that he can use some of his windows programs - of course mostly games..... Our problem is that the PC is a standalone with no internet connection at this time - it will soon. We downloaded wine-1.1.28.tar.bz2 onto a usb drive and copied over, but we are such know-nothings about this that we are stuck. I have seen something

Beta upgrade (could not find a decent answer yet)
Greetings All from Florida. As of tonight, Sunday April 14th, 07, I finished loading the dvd iso of 5 beta (or 4.92 as it is shown to be) and went archive diving to see what was up with the updater not finding the 4.92 files on the mirrors.. I only saw a few notes about removing a dev file and something else, then a comment about removing an image file, then a comment about not doing it in X as

Donations to Xiph
I have a few thoughs and questions about donating to Xiph that I hop you have a minute for. Here we go: == "Who donated what" list == As it seems we don't have a "Who donated what" list. I thought creating such a list could increase motivation to donate to some parties. What I currently have in mind would be to start listing donations from now on below the current content

more obvious contribution mechanism?
can we put a "how to donate money to R" on the R webpage? perhaps with a paypal button? even better, because I would like to donate some funds from my research budget, could the R-project possibly sell some trinkets for a high price for support? it is difficult to explain to a non-profit org (like yale) why i want to donate its money to another non-profit org. they would be

centos friends?
Hello All, I want to ask about CentOS and money. Please do not start some kind of shitstorm over this, it isn't productive. I have just been looking at archive.org to see when the paypal option went missing from the donate menu at centos.org. I can't pin it down, but it was there on October 16, 2010 and isn't now, so that's the information I have on that point. There was a

scp -t - revisited.....
Okay - We went around and around on the idea that adding an option to restrict scp to only allow files to be copied to a certain directory (or below) based on a different startup param. I was told to use all sorts of different options, parameters, methods, etc... All because no one wanted to modify the scp code, for whatever reasoning. I'm sitting here laughing right now, seriously

The Wiki "Donate" Page.
With reference to the "Donate" page [1], I see that the very first sentence reads --
The CentOS Project is based a foundation of the efforts of volunteers.
On two separate occasions I have come across those words and thought "Huh?". Granted I can change them but, not knowing the current (?legal?) set-up of the Project, I've decided to leave that sentence

Re: FhG $15k minimum
>Would you users donate money if that was available? Even if it was $1? >I mean, 100k people donating $1 each could go a long way. Setting up some sort of tax-exempt organization (similar to the FSF) may be useful here. I don't mind chipping in my £1 worth, but getting a tax deduction at the same time would persuade more people to donate, I think.

Still Fundraising for FreeBSD security development
Dear FreeBSD users, On April 4th, I thought that I had reached my donations target for funding my summer of FreeBSD security development, and asked people to stop sending further donations. Sadly, it seems that this assessment was premature, as it relied upon two large pledges, and it now appears that one of them will not be arriving. Fortunately, Pair Networks -- the other large donor -- has
