Code: Executing cp -f /root/.wine/drive_c/winetrickstmp/Verdana.TTF /root/.wine/drive_c/winetrickstmp/Verdanab.TTF /root/.wine/drive_c/winetrickstmp/Verdanai.TTF

Multiple language output - Correct in RGui, wrong in .txt after sink()
I have the following problem with outputting multilingual data to a file. I get (except for Korean) what I expect as result in the RGui, but when I use sink() to output to a text file loose the characters in the foreign languages. I post a small example below. Since I am not sure how well my email system as the list copes with all the different characters I have additionally created a pdf

How to set default font and the replacement font?
There are three fonts in c:\windows\fonts: stxingkai.ttf simsun.ttf and simyou.ttf If an application does not specify a font, then stxingkai.ttf is loaded in it to show the text. If I remove the stxingkai.ttf from c:\windows\fonts then it use simyou.ttf to show text. If I remove simyou.ttf again then it use simsun.ttf. But you know, I hope the simsun.ttf is the first choice. Then the first

Better fonts in wine?
I'm using wine 0.9.7 from the extras repository on Fedora Core 4. I've installed a windows program using wine. The program works very well; however, the fonts it uses are ugly and difficult to read. The rest of my system (KDE) uses smooth, beautiful, anti-aliased fonts, and this windows program is the only exception. I read the FAQ on the wine homepage, and it says to copy the

installing Windows ttf fonts.
I am on Ubuntu Intrepid. I read in the Wine User's guide: > Font configuration, once a nasty problem, is now much simpler. If you have a collection of TrueType fonts in Windows it?s simply a matter of copying the .ttf files into c:\windows\fonts. > Just so I understand correctly: I can simply copy and paste (using Nautilus) the .ttf files from Windows Vista partition, in

Font confusion
In my attempts to get Fractal Mapper (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=3117) to work I am a bit confused about the behaviour of text and fonts. The application's documentation says you should be able to use any TrueType fonts. I see a menu with the fonts I have on the system. If I select one of them and enter some text I see the text as I enter it, but when I finish it disappears.
