DVD software "this projector file is corrupt!"
Excuse me, I have not defined the problem with clarity. My DVD is a software to see sum demonstrations of techniques (aikido) in 3 dimensions. When the DVD was in my computer, it made a copy of the software DVD on my hard disk . So, after, I can watch at any time without the DVD software in my computer. To do that I had to introduce a code (I bought the DVD). When I watch a test

Video projector vs. onboard video card
Hi, I have a CentOS 7 desktop client installed on an old Dell Optiplex computer with an Intel video card integrated into the motherboard. The card has a single VGA connector, and the 19" monitor is connected to it. I wonder how I could connect a video projector to this computer while keeping the monitor, in a mirroring configuration, e. g. output is the same on the video projector and the

Wine 1.1.7: Sound regression?
I have recently formatted my system in order to install Intrepid Ibex, and I am now using it with Wine 1.1.7. I did a backup of the prefixes of the games I was using in Hardy / Wine up to 1.1.5, and imported them in my new installment. The games work normally, but the sound is crackling all the time for each of them; something which was not happening in my former installment. I have not noticed

The only difference is the graphic gard. On the one which works, it's a Nvidia 7300 Go and on the other it's an ATI Radeon Xpress

WoW, and most other games, do not run under Wine.
I've recently installed Wine onto my ubuntu intrepid ibex box and I'm having endless issues when it comes to running games. Right now, I'm specifically trying to play World of Warcraft and I am receiving graphical issues that cause the game to be unplayable. These bugs are widespread and i cannot see anything in the game's window. The laptop is running on an Intel GMA965Q. I've

mail_location in userdb inconsistent with imap and pigeonhole
Hi! I'm still fighting with lost mails and what I think is a locking problem. As I've lost some pretty important mails already, I decided to mitigate my troubles by moving to maildir format, which should not be susceptible to these problems. I read the docs and wanted to test on my account, before I mess with all the others and possibly break something. The way to do it seems to be to

winehq web. wine configuration in Ubuntu 8.10
Hi I wanted to install wine using your apt source in my recently installed Ubuntu 8.10, but when I got to the installation page (http://www.winehq.org/download/deb), but it didn't say how to install it in Intrepid Ibex (at least in spanish, which is the language I can see that page on). As easy as this, just follow the instructions and add the key: wget -q

Repository issue with R 2.8.0 in Ubuntu 8.10
Dear List, I'm not an expert on Linux but I have been using Ubuntu and R sice two years ago. I've just installed Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex (8.10, Kernel: 2.6.27-7-generic) from the scratch and then installed R, following the instruction given on: http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README, and everything worked fine. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) and R 2.7.1. I've built a package from source (a modified version of gbm) and it contains some C++ code. I now want to cross-compile it to get a Windows version. I installed R using sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install r-base sudo apt-get install r-base-dev So far as I can tell, I've also followed all the instructions in the guide

Adobe Director projectors
Hi there I'm a complete newbie regarding Linux, but we've got a potential sale of our software to a large number of Linux computers and I'm trying to find out how feasible it is, and I'm hoping this is the place to find out! Our software is made using Adobe Director, and we distribute it either through a browser using Shockwave, or as a standalone executable (Projector). I'm
