Fable breaks from wine 1.1.10 to 1.1.11
Hi, I guess I should open a bug in bugzilla. Some questions: I installed 1.1.10 and 1.1.11 through PlayOnLinux. Does this make a difference for the bug reporting? I have the output from the terminal (backtrace below). What could I do to provide more useful information? I suppose the next step would be to do a bisect but I've never done it and I suspect I'll need quite a bit of time.

little fighter 2 vdragonballz 3.0 mod crashes on load sprite
I was trying to run one of my kids favourite games with Wine, alas it crashes accessing a null pointer, early on while loading one of the sprite files (not corrupted). I guess the program should be doing better memory checking but since this works on Windows, maybe Wine has fed him before some broken data. Unfortunately, the terminal output doesn't seem much helpful:

Sid Meier's Pirates! crashes consistently
I'm running Wine v.1.1.26 on Xubuntu 9.04 on a brand-new machine from IbexPC. I installed Pirates, installed the 1.02 patch, and overwrote the executable with the No-CD exe. I can get the game to open and run, and with the right settings, it runs really well--but only for a minute or two. Then the game crashes with the following error: The program Pirates!.exe has encountered a serious

Pirates Online
I can get Pirates Online installed but it fales at login. On the Ubuntu forums there is a thread about it. They seam to have found the problem but not a solution. Here is a clip from the Ubuntu forum stating the possible issue. > > I did a packet capture on both a Windows computer and a Linux computer. > When you log in, it sends your login over HTTPS to 198.105.196.11

X-Windows hangs while playing Tales of Pirates
Hi all, I have been playing the game Tales of Pirates with last patch (both freely downloadable from http://top1.igg.com/) for a while, and I didn't experience the troubles explained in AppDB. I play the game without sound and with minimal graphics. The problem is that after some time playing, my X hang and I can't even close session with Ctrl+Alt+Tab or change it with Ctrl+Alt+F1 .

Sid Meier's Pirates! crashes consistently - Part II
I'm running the latest version of Wine (currently 1.1.28 ) on Xubuntu 9.04 and I kept getting the error "The program Pirates!.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." It was occurring regularly a short time after I started playing. Some helpful folks posted suggestions to help get it working reliably, but nothing made a

Clean enviroments in Wine
I read somewhere that in order for a program to work properly in Wine it should be installed in a clean enviroment, something along the lines of one software conflicting with anothers drivers/runtime/apps/etc. Is this true? Does this mean that I can only have one program installed with Wine at a time? Can one not create several 'fresh enviroments'?

issue with sudo make install
I compiled the latest version of wine in Ubuntu 10.04. When I do sudo make install /usr/local/bin/wine --version still reports 1.3.31 instead of 1.3.34. However, the file date is today's! cmp shows this wine file is different from the wine in the git directory. Note that Winecfg is replaced by the new version. Any idea what's up with this?? Fernando

~FAQ: parallel install of multiple wine versions
This is not in the FAQ, but since different apps run better depending on wine version, and I just have a case I would like to try, is it possible to do it? I don't want to mess up my system with experiences so, with ubuntu, what would one have to do?

about re-opening a bug
Hi, I reported a bug [http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17774] a while ago and since it didn't crash after a fresh system restart, I proposed to close it, which was done (by Austin English). But recently I got a crash after restart and finally I compiled the source code for 1.1.17 to get useful info at the backtrace. I found out and the crash (with 1.1.17) happens exactly at the same

about overriding dlls
I am checking an old bug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9637 which happens to affect several games. Before arriving to the bug in question, one has to workaround another bug relate to shdocvw.dll. It is recommended to override a set of libraries which I believe should be put in system32. However, at least some of the dlls are already there. Are these the wine builtins or rather proxies as
