Half-life: Day of Defeat problems.
Hey, I have been having day of defeat fps problems. It's like some maps I get a constant 90 fps and on others I can barely reach 60. I shouldn't be having fps trouble on a game that's almost 10 years old. So I was wondering if there's anything I can do to keep my fps at 90 all the time on all maps. So if someone could please help me, that would be great! Thanks! p.s. My specs

Font issue with Wine
Hello, I'm under Ubuntu - Jaunty Jackalope. While installing 3 different games under Wine (Medieval II - Total War, Patrician III : Rise of the Hanse and Anno 1503), the installation went smoothly but the same problem of the game asking to insert an already inserted CD occured. By searching the web, it appeared that it was a cd protection issue, so I found no-cd patches and applied them.

Indexing Ogg files for faster seeking
I've developed an indexer which embeds a keyframe index track in Ogg files. It embeds the index in its own track, so that players that don't understand or don't want to use the index can just ignore it. Ogg needs this to make seeking over networks faster and more efficient. Currently we must do a bisection search when seeking, which usually takes aound 6 HTTP requests, give or

Swtiching workspace while gaming with wine
I can switch workspaces easyly, when my game is launched in windowed mode, but I get really low fps. so I run it in fullscreen. The game is Lord of The RIngs Online (Lotro). I can switch to other workspace, but when returning to workspace where I started my game, game window takes only 60% of screen (see the screenshot). Any way of fixing this? Enabling virtual desktop in wine doesn't make it

Re: Gaming
This might be necro-posting but this is practically only place which show-up if one tries to search in Wine AppDB for "Battlefield 3" so it is worth to mention that at current state of Wine-1.3.31 any game/application using: 1. .NET Framework (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=2586) higher then 2.0. 2. PunkBuster (http://www.evenbalance.com/) 3.

successful ATI card for WINE gaming?
Is there current or semi-current ATI video card that people are having good luck with for video games through WINE? I'm going to need a new card soon and we have had a long run of bad luck with the quality of Nvidia cards so I would like to give ATI a try. I know the driver improvements for Linux have been slow to arrive, but if anyone has a card they can recommend it would give me a

Gaming Sites Refuse to Load
:( Exactly as the title says, A majority of online gaming sites and browser based mmo games refuse to load on to a mozilla browser with WINE installed. Examples are www.armorgames.com www.freeonlinegames.com www.bigpoint.com What they do is they load a little bit so I can see the website, But then it freezes up and im forced to quit the session and start over again...with the same results...
