Form Dates and MultiparameterAssignmentErrors
I''m using the date_select form helper for a date_of_birth field on an
ActiveRecord object. When I try to save a date earlier than 1 Jan 1970,
ActionController punts with
ActiveRecord::MultiparameterAssignmentErrors. The message it gives is
"1 error(s) on assignment of multiparameter attributes". I was able to
catch the exception and look at it, and it is certainly complaining

Can you see an obvious reason why this date_select code is failing?

specifying m/d/y order in datetime_select
the date_select form helper has a neat little feature which lets you specify
the order of the month/day/year that is displayed on the form via the :order
parameter. i.e.
<%= date_select ''blah'', ''somedate'', :order=>[ :month, :day, :year ] %>
however, i don''t see a similar option for datetime_select. passing
an :order parameter is happily

Newb question about facade columns
Hello,
I am trying to deal with a database table that contains a date in the
form of the number of seconds since epoch. Data is inserted in this
format by an existing script that I can''t change, so a schema change
isn''t realistic.
I would like to allow humans to view and edit this data in the form of
an actual human-readable date. I figured a facade column would be the

1 error(s) on assignment of multiparameter attributes
I am trying to create a form for processing credit cards. For the
credit card expiration date, I would like to leave the day field out
of the form for obvious reasons. However, the following code is
producing an error for me.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

problem with AR and 'virtual' multiparameter attributes.
Hello,
I have a model which I would like to have a ''virtual'' date column.
This column wouldn''t exist in the database, but would exist for
validation, etc. The data would be provided in the form of a
date_select in the view. This produces a multiparameter attribute. My
problem is that the ''execute_callstack_for_multiparameter_attributes''

Trouble using date_select with blank options
I want to allow users to enter a day and a month, but not necessarily
a year. i.e. it should be optional.
If I select the day and month, but a blank year and then submit i get:
1 error(s) on assignment of multiparameter attributes
The paramaters regarding the date look like this:
{"date_of_birth(2i)"=>"3",

Small Date Formatting Question regarding datetime_select()
Is there a way to make datetime_select() dropdowns work on a 12hr
clock? I need to make a input field that works exactly like the
reminders datetime selecton dropdowns in Backpack to populate a
datetime field in my DB. i.e in the format: month, day, year ? hour
(1-12) minute am/pm. Should I change my database to have a separate
column for date and one for time and use date_select()?

Rails 2.1 and ddatetime_select
I''ve updated to 2.1 and am continuing to have issues with
datetime_select helpers which worked fine previously.
Example:

:action
=> :add_booking_note_ajax,
:id => @booking},

date_select helper error
I have this date select helper:
<%= date_select("customer", "dob", :include_blank => true, :order =>
[:month, :day]) %>
I get this error when posting the form:
1 error(s) on assignment of multiparameter attributes
The error happens when I take off the :year option.
Any clues as to why this maybe happening?

In datetime_select, :order does not work, but it works for date_select Why
Hi All
In my project I am to take date of birth from user so I used
datetime_select. It renders three selection boxes, year, month and day. But
I want order as day, month and year. I added :order option for
datetime_select, it renders normal selection boxes with order year, month
and day. Why :order does not work with datetime_select? see my following
code

:discard_year => true for date_select
Hey guys,
There''s been a patch in the queue for a few days around the
discard_year option for date_select and datetime_select. The author
has also attached a second patch which makes similar changes, but
instead of just dropping the field, a hidden field is used instead.
We only need one of these tickets open, and we probably should apply
one of the patches.

Stuck saving Dates as string
Hi everyone,
I have a form that has a date_select form field. Now for some reasons
out of my control I need to save the date generated by date_select to a
''text'' field in mysql 5.0. Now i''ve been reading the ruby API for date
and datetime objects...but so far I''m reallly lost.
So to sum it up I have to make date(1i), date(2i), date(3i) into a mysql

help, 1 error(s) on assignment of multiparameter attributes
Hi everyone!
I just started learning Ruby on Rails about a week ago for a school
project, and can''t seem to find a solution for something.
I have this inside the form inside of edit_albums.rhtml:
<%= start_form_tag :action=>''proccess_edit_album'', :id=>@album.id %>
....
Release Date: <%= datetime_select(:album, :release_date, :start_year

Overriding date_select in local project to use custom value rather than blank for starting option...
I would like to have a date control on a page and I would like a
behavior similar to what you get using date_select with the
:include_blank => true option where the first value in the dropdown is
"- Month -", "- Day -", or "- Year -" rather than a blank value for
the respective month, day, and year select fields.
I took a look at the ruby source for

Bizzare Date, DateTime, date_select issues
I''ve been banging my head against this wall for several hours, and it
hurts now so I''ll stop and ask someone.
In one of my forms I had been using a statement to extract the current
year for use with some form field calculations.
<% currentyear = DateTime.now.year %>
And then further down several date_selects like the following,

@user = User.find(@params[:id])
