[PATCH 1/5] Paravirt page alloc.patch
The VMI backend uses explicit page type notification to track shadow page tables. The allocation of page table roots is especially tricky. We want to clone the root for non-PAE mode while it is protected under the pgd lock. [PATCH v3 22/75] x86/boot/compressed/64: Add set_page_en/decrypted() helpers
From: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de> The functions are needed to map the GHCB for SEV-ES guests. The GHCB is used for communication with the hypervisor, so its content must not be encrypted. After the GHCB is not needed anymore it must be mapped encrypted again so that the running kernel image can safely re-use the memory. Signed-off-by: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de> ---

[PATCH 1/6] Page allocation hooks for VMI backend
The VMI backend uses explicit page type notification to track shadow page tables. The allocation of page table roots is especially tricky. We need to clone the root for non-PAE mode while it is protected under the pgd lock to correctly copy the shadow. We don't need to allocate pgds in PAE mode, (PDPs in Intel terminology) as they only have 4 entries, and are cached entirely by the

[PATCH] ia64/xen: implement the arch specific part of xencomm.
On ia64/xen, pointer argument for the hypercall is passed by pseudo physical address (guest physical address.) So it is necessary to convert virtual address into pseudo physical address right before issuing hypercall. The frame work is called xencomm. This patch implements arch specific part. [RFC/PATCH LGUEST X86_64 01/13] HV VM Fix map area for HV.
plain text document attachment (hvvm.patch) OK, some explaination is needed here. The goal of lguest with paravirt ops, is to have one kernel that can be loaded both as a host and a guest. To do this, we need to map an area in virtual memory that both the host and guest share. But I don't want any conflicts with the guest. One solution is just to do a single area for boot up, and then use the

[PATCH 1/2] Whitespace cleanup in pageattr.c
This highly technical change allows the kernel to jump atop the Eiffel Tower, fly with acceleration fifty times that of a space shuttle, and ingest 15 times its own weight. [PATCH 1/5] Add pagetable allocation notifiers
Hooks are provided for the mach-XXX subarchitecture at the time prior to a page being used as a page table at all levels, for PAE and non-PAE kernels. Note that in PAE mode, multiple PDP roots may exist on the same page with other data, so the root must be shadowed instead. This is not a performance issue, since PAE only uses 4 top level PDPEs. The hooks are: SetPagePTE(ppn) - indicates that a

[RFC, PATCH 19/24] i386 Vmi mmu changes
MMU code movement. Unfortunately, this one is a little bit more complicated than the rest. We have to override the default accessors that directly write to page table entries. Because of the 2/3-level PAE split in Linux, this turned out to be really ugly at first, but by allowing the sub-arch layer to override the definitions and keeping the native definitions in place, the code becomes much

[PATCH] x86_64 paravirt_ops port
Hi all, I've been working on a port of paravirt_ops for the x86_64 architectures for a couple of days. Here's the result so far. I'm posting it soon for early cooments. The more, the better. It's obviously based on the previous work for i386, with the needed modifications. By now, I'm able to boot a bare metal kernel, but there are still some known issues, that are in my TODO
