[RFC, PATCH 10/24] i386 Vmi descriptor changes
Descriptor and trap table cleanups. Add cleanly written accessors for IDT and GDT gates so the subarch may override them. Note that this allows the hypervisor to transparently tweak the DPL of the descriptors as well as the RPL of segments in those descriptors, with no unnecessary kernel code modification. It also allows the hypervisor implementation of the VMI to tweak the gates, allowing for

[PATCH 5/12] desc-cleanup
Stop using extra underscores on asm and volatiles, that is just silly. Also, make lgdt/lidt/sgdt/sldt explicitly "l". [PATCH] paravirt.h
This version over last version: (1) Gets rid of the no_paravirt.h header and leaves native ops in place (with some reshuffling to keep then under one #ifdef). (2) Fixes the "X crashes with CONFIG_PARAVIRT=y" bug. (3) Puts __ex_table entry in paravirt iret. Another followup patch implements binary patching... Rusty. === Create a paravirt.h header for all the critical operations which

[PATCH] x86_64 paravirt_ops port
Hi all, I've been working on a port of paravirt_ops for the x86_64 architectures for a couple of days. Here's the result so far. I'm posting it soon for early cooments. The more, the better. It's obviously based on the previous work for i386, with the needed modifications. By now, I'm able to boot a bare metal kernel, but there are still some known issues, that are in my TODO

[PATCH 1/10] Provide basic Xen PM infrastructure
Basic infrastructure for Xen S3 support with a common CPU context save/restore logic for both 32bit and 64bit. Wakeup code is split into two parts: - the first locates after trampoline code, to share all the tricks on the latter, like relocation base and identy mapping - the 2nd part locates in xen code segment, to do the actual CPU context restore Signed-off-by Ke Yu

[PATCH 1/4] x86 paravirt_ops: create no_paravirt.h for native ops
(Andrew, please sit these in the -mm tree for cooking) Create a paravirt.h header for (almost) all the critical operations which need to be replaced with hypervisor calls. For the moment, this simply includes no_paravirt.h, where all the native implementations now live. Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au> Signed-off-by: Zachary Amsden <zach@vmware.com>

[PATCH 18/21] i386 Ldt cleanups 2
Add an acessor function to get a pointer to an LDT descriptor. Add one for the GDT too, while we are here, and a function to tell the difference. Turns out on some GCC versions, converting to char * and back gives better code output than gdt[seg >> 3]. Lets keep that trick in the header file so the C-code can be clean. Not used yet, but soon.
