paravirt & xen & SMP
Hi,
Anyone has this working? Looks like there is a chicken-and-egg issue
with pda setup:
* xen_load_gdt() uses multicalls, thus depends on cpu-specific
variables (per-cpu mc buffer) which in turn requires pda being
setup already.
* pda setup can't be done before xen_load_gdt() ...
Next question while looking at xen_load_gdt(): why does it use
multicalls in the first place?

APIC clock setup dependent on PAE ?
Why are these APIC clock init hooks dependent on CONFIG_X86_PAE ?
include/asm/paravirt.h:
static inline void setup_boot_clock(void)
{
paravirt_ops.setup_boot_clock();
}
static inline void setup_secondary_clock(void)
{
paravirt_ops.setup_secondary_clock();
}
(via the vmi timer patch).

Introducing paravirt_ops for x86_64
Hi folks,
After some time away from it, and a big rebase as a consequence, here is
the updated version of paravirt_ops for x86_64, heading to inclusion.
Your criticism is of course, very welcome.
Have fun

[PATCH 6/6] VMI timer patches
VMI timer code. It works by taking over the local APIC clock when APIC is
configured, which requires a couple hooks into the APIC code. The backend
timer code could be commonized into the timer infrastructure, but there are
some pieces missing (stolen time, in particular), and the exact semantics
of when to do accounting for NO_IDLE need to be shared between different
hypervisors as well. So

[PATCH 00/12] xen/paravirt_ops patches for 2.6.24
Hi Linus,
Here's a set of patches to update paravirt_ops and Xen for 2.6.24
A quick overview of the patchset:
paravirt_ops:
Remove the monolithic paravirt_ops structure, and replace it with
smaller structures of related functions. Also, clean up the handling
of lazy mode to make it easier to implement.
x86/mm/init.c: remove a chunk of dead code
Xen:
- remove duplicate includes

[PATCH 0 of 4] Minios improvements for app development
This patch series contains a set of patches making minios rather easier
to use, from an application development point of view.
Overview of patches:
1 Command line argument parsing support, from Xen.
2 Weak console handler function.
3 Build system tweaks for application directories.
4 Trailing whitespace cleanup. (because it is very messy)
Patch 4 is likely to be more controversial than

[RFC, PATCH 4/5] Paravirt_ops drop internal patches.patch
Some of these boot hooks do not need to be patched, in fact, it is better not
to patch them at all and thus keep them totally private.

[PATCH 0/15] adjust pvops to accomodate its x86_64 variant
Hi folks,
With this series, the bulk of the work of pvops64 is done.
Here, I integrate most of the paravirt.c and paravirt.h files, making
them applicable to both architectures.
CONFIG_PARAVIRT is _not_ present yet. Basically, this code is missing page
table integration (patches currently being worked on by Jeremy).
Enjoy

[patch 00/20] paravirt_ops updates
Hi Andi,
Here's a repost of the paravirt_ops update series I posted the other day.
Since then, I found a few potential bugs with patching clobbering,
cleaned up and documented paravirt.h and the patching machinery.
Overview:
add-MAINTAINERS.patch
obvious
remove-CONFIG_DEBUG_PARAVIRT.patch
No longer meaningful or needed.
paravirt-nop.patch
Clean up nop paravirt_ops functions, mainly to
