r code to broaden the boarder of the bars of a histogram
To whom it may concern,
I have a problem concerning the design of a histogram. How do I change
the border widths of the bars of a histogram. The initial command is:
hist (punkte,breaks=30, xlab="Punkte", ylab="H?ufigkeit",
main="Histogramm", col= heat.colors(30), border= "red")
I suspect that it has to do with the "lwd" command but can't

[LLVMdev] How to broaden the SLP vectorizer's search
The BB vectorizer has an option 'bb-vectorizer-search-limit'. Is there a
similar option for the SLP vectorizer? Maybe an analysis pass' scope
that can be widen?
I have large basic blocks with instructions that should be merged into
packed versions. However, the blocks are optimized independently from
each other. Now, if the instructions to be merged aren't too far apart

New Adobe Reader works on CentOS-4.x, speech synthesis reader & more.
Just and FYI.
In RPM form, works on 4.x and I will try on 5.x too. Speech is tacky,
but if I can get something but the Gnome Festival synthesizer, maybe it
will improve?

SAPI (Speech Synthesis API)
Replace nospam with ssb22 to reply by email.
Hi,
Does anybody have pointers about using SAPI 5
speech synthesis engines (sometimes called a
"SAPI 5 voices") under Wine? I've searched all
over the Web but can't find any mention of it.
Although English speech is well-supported in
Linux, speech in languages like Chinese,
Japanese and Korean is not. Commercial
offerings are

Festival Speech Synthesis 1.95:beta July 2004 Eval
Hello--
In the interests of playing around and wasting time, I've installed the
latest version of the
Festival stuff, 1.95beta.
And, in the interests of future Asterisk-Festival connectivity, I
applied the 1.4.3 patch to put in the
asterisk related routines. I did it by hand, but, it looks like the
patch will apply with no comment.
Asterisk works with the new server...

Sounds transscript / speech synthesis
Hi,
in the earlier version there was a sounds.txt with the transcript of the
soundfiles. Does this still exist somewhere?
Is there a plan to make speech synthesis available the same way as
soundfiles, ie. instead of playing language/soundfile.wav, send the text to
the speechengine and play the output...?

[LLVMdev] How to broaden the SLP vectorizer's search
Hi Frank,
Thanks for working on this. Please look at vectorizeStoreChains. In this function we process all of the stores in the function in buckets of 16 elements because constructing consecutive stores is implemented using an O(n^2) algorithm. You can try to increase this threshold to 128 and see if it helps.
I also agree with Renato and Chad that adding a flag to tell the SLP-vectorizer to

I'm not sure that's a good idea as a raw access to that limit, as
there are no guarantees that it'll stay the same. But maybe a flag

Poll - Would you pay $30-$50 for high quality speech synthesis?
Many of you are familiar with how lousy Festival sounds.
AT&T has a product, NaturalVoices, that sounds much better. There are
male & female voice fonts for US/UK/Indian English, French, Spanish,
and German.
I am considering offering a linux-based text-to-speech engine based on
the NaturalVoices runtime. An asterisk module would also be provided,
making it easy to add natural sounding

Redirections, Duplicate Content & Permalinks
Hi,
Recently I''ve looked at trying to get a permalink system up to
increase my site''s ranking in google (and to have nice looking URLs);
however I''ve been very worried about google and duplicate content.
I currently already have a "flaw" in my site, in which if you go to
mysite.com/tutorials/ID it will bring you to the same place as

Basic Rails problem with has_many nil values and permalinks
Hi,
I have a model property with has_many. I find the property and then I
need to find the name of the building or the neighborhood that the
property belongs to. The property is not always assigned a building or
neighborhood.
This becomes a problem when createing permalinks with permalink_fu.

Valid W3C XHTML Code?!
Hi there,
i was just asking myself what i can do get my ruby site valid to the w3c
specs. my biggest problem is the auto-generated html code of the link_to
function which gives the form field an id value which includes an array.
that rises the following error:
Line 45 column 20: character "[" is not allowed in the value of
attribute "id".

W3C Standard
I''m rather new to web programming. I''m wondering, does rhtml file
conform to W3C standard? Or is there a way to make it conform to W3C
standard?
Thanks,

kate and W3C timed text
Hi ogg.k,
I've just been asked what the difference was between Kate and the W3C
timed text format (http://www.w3.org/AudioVideo/TT/) and whether there
was any compatibility. It migjht be a question and answer to add to
the OggKate wiki page.
Cheers,
Silvia.

Synthesis of harmonic functions
Hello,
I try to synthesize harmonic functions with a subset of frequencies
determined by fast fourier transform. I wrote two different functions, a
looped version and a matrix multiplication version. As an example the
looped version takes 5 sec and the matrix-version takes 3-4 sec (R 1.4,
Athlon 1.2 GHz, 256 MB, Win ME), but the latter needs huge amount of
memory due to the matrices. So, none of

Disable memset synthesis
Our application is 32-bit big-endian ARM and we use -O3 with LTO.
clang optimizes certain initialization of structures to zero with
calls to memset, which are not further lowered to move instructions.
Investigating perf reports, it looks like it may be beneficial to
disable this optimization that introduces a function call to memset in
certain hot paths.
I tried passing -fno-builtin, but that

How To Test For W3C compliance locally and possibly to include it in to Continuous integraition process
Hi Everyone,
As many of you out there I''m "protected" by the firewall which prevents
me from checking my code for W3C compliance, I am able to check the
production
code but i would like to test my code before it goes to production.
So if anyone was able to have that check done locally, possibly
including some sort of tests in to the integration process, I would
