[PATCH 0/2] runstate_memory_area on ARM
Hi all, this patch series introduces support for runstate_memory_area on ARM. The first patch moves VCPUOP_register_runstate_memory_area to common code, while the second one add VCPUOP_register_runstate_memory_area to the whilelist of vcpu_op hypercalls supported on ARM and properly updates the runstate_memory_area during vcpu context switch. [PATCH] xen/smp: Fixup NOHZ per cpu data when onlining an offline CPU.
The xen_play_dead is an undead function. When the vCPU is told to offline it ends up calling xen_play_dead wherin it calls the VCPUOP_down hypercall which offlines the vCPU. However, when the vCPU is onlined back, it resumes execution right after VCPUOP_down hypercall. That was OK (albeit the API for play_dead assumes that the CPU stays dead and never returns) but with commit 4b0c0f294 (tick:

[PATCH 05/27] xen, cpu hotplug: Don't call cpu_bringup() in xen_play_dead()
xen_play_dead calls cpu_bringup() which looks weird, because xen_play_dead() is invoked in the cpu down path, whereas cpu_bringup() (as the name suggests) is useful in the cpu bringup path. Getting rid of xen_play_dead()'s dependency on cpu_bringup() helps in hooking on to the generic SMP booting framework. Also remove the extra call to preempt_enable() added by commit 41bd956 (xen/smp: Fix

[PATCH] xen: arm: document which hypercalls (and subops) are supported on ARM
From: Ian Campbell <ian.campbell@citrix.com> There are many hypercalls which make no sense or which are not supported on ARM systems but it''s not all that obvious which ones we do support. So lets try and document the hypercalls which are useful on ARM. I''m not sure this is the best way to go about this, I''m open to other ideas. Signed-off-by: Ian Campbell

[PATCH v3 0/4] xen/arm: CONFIG_PARAVIRT and stolen ticks accounting
Hi all, this patch series introduces stolen ticks accounting for Xen on ARM. Stolen ticks are clocksource ticks that have been "stolen" from the cpu, typically because Linux is running in a virtual machine and the vcpu has been descheduled. To account for these ticks we introduce CONFIG_PARAVIRT and pv_time_ops so that we can make use of:

[RFC PATCH v3 18/19] smp, tile: kill SMP single function call interrupt
Commit 9a46ad6d6df3b54 "smp: make smp_call_function_many() use logic similar to smp_call_function_single()" has unified the way to handle single and multiple cross-CPU function calls. Now only one intterupt is needed for architecture specific code to support generic SMP function call interfaces, so kill the redundant single function call interrupt. Cc: Andrew Morton <akpm at

[PATCH] make x86_64 vcpu hotplug work like i386
hi, i386 vcpu hotplug seems to work reliably but x86_64 does not and i think i have discovered why. in x86-64, a cpu within a domu can be removed with vcpu-set but subsequent calls do nothing. after xenwatch_thread grabs the event triggered by the write to the store, it calls the registered handler and never comes back. eventually, __cpu_die in drivers/xen/core/smpboot.c spins while waiting

[PATCH] x86/S3: Restore broken vcpu affinity on resume (v3)
When in SYS_STATE_suspend, and going through the cpu_disable_scheduler path, save a copy of the current cpu affinity, and mark a flag to restore it later. Later, in the resume process, when enabling nonboot cpus restore these affinities. v2: Fix formatting problems. remove early return in cpu_disable_scheduler() path. v3: Fix remaining errant tab Move restore_vcpu_affinity() to thaw_domains(),

[PATCH] Initialize state_entry_time to zero for all idle vcpus
Initialize state_entry_time to zero for all idle vcpus NOW() is not usable since xen time sub-system hasn''t been initialized yet. On my box, it gives a initial stamp ~60s due to local tsc stamp as zero and TSC count is started from power on. Then a negative value is added to runstate of that idle vcpu at schedule point. The net effect is for some tool like xenpm to show a big idle time

[PATCH][cpufreq] Xen support for the ondemand governor [1/2] (hypervisor code)
Modify the cpufreq ondemand governor so that it can get idle and total ticks from the Xen hypervisor. Linux and Xen have different ideas of what an idle tick is, so the Xen values for both have to be returned in the same platform hypercall.
