[patch 9/9] lguest: the documentation, example launcher
From: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au> A brief document describing how to use lguest. Because lguest doesn't have an ABI we also include an example launcher in the Documentation directory. [jmorris@namei.org: Fix up nat example in documentation] Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au> Cc: Andi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: James Morris

[RFC/PATCH LGUEST X86_64 07/13] lguest64 loader
plain text document attachment (lguest64-loader.patch) I noticed that the lguest loader code for i386 was in Documentation/lguest. Well, that's fine (I guess) but it can't just be for i386. So I made a separate directory to put the loader code in. So now we have: Documentation/lguest/i386/... for the lguest i386 loader. and Documentation/lguest/x86_64/... for the lguest x86_64

[patch 00/43] lguest: Patches for 2.6.24 (and patchbomb test)
Hi all, These are the patches I'm planning to submit for 2.6.24. Comments gratefully accepted. Along with the usual cleanups and improvements are Jes' de-i386-ification patches, and a new "virtio" mechanism designed to be shared with KVM (and hopefully other hypervisors). Cheers, Rusty. From 5d85cee1fb14608b79b5b6103d8be2d90bb76ca4 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com> Date: Mon, 12 Nov 2007 21:30:26 -0600 Subject: [PATCH] virtio: simplify config mechanism. Previously we used a type/len pair within the config space, but this seems overkill. We now simply define a structure which represents the layout in the config space: the config space can

[PATCH 0/2] Use a single loader for i386 and x86_64
This patch moves lguest.c one level bellow, and enhances it with the ability to kick off 64 binaries. It would be much easier to just ifdef functions, but I have x86_64 machines loading 32-bit kernels as a longer goal, and that's why the patch features the load_elf_header() function. [RFC PATCH 0/4] Inter-guest virtio I/O example with lguest
Hi all, Just finished my prototype of inter-guest virtio, using networking as an example. Each guest mmaps the other's address space and uses a FIFO for notifications. There are two issues with this approach. The first is that neither guest can change its mappings. See patch 1. The second is that our feature configuration is "host presents, guest chooses" which breaks

[PATCH] Unified lguest launcher
This is a new version of the unified lguest launcher that applies to the current tree. According to rusty's suggestion, I'm bothering less to be able to load 32 bit kernels on 64-bit machines: changing the launcher for such case would be the easy part! In the absence of further objections, I'll commit it. Signed-off-by: Glauber de Oliveira Costa <gcosta@redhat.com> -- =

[PATCH] Lguest launcher, child starving parent
Glauber noticed long delays between hitting a key, and seeing data come up on the virtual console. Looking into this, I found that the wake_parent routine that reads from all devices was actually starving out the parent after sending the parent a signal to wake up. The thing is, the child which takes the console input is recognized by the scheduler as an interactive process. The parent,
