[PATCH v2 1/2] virtio: Add a can_add_buf helper
This helper returns 1 if a call to add_buf will not fail
with -ENOSPC.
This will help callers that do
while(1) {
alloc()
if (add_buf()) {
free();
break;
}
}
This will result in one less alloc/free exercise.

Bug in SeaBIOS virtio-ring handling bug with vhost-scsi-pci
Hi Paolo & Co,
So I've been running into another bug with SeaBIOS w/ virtio-scsi +
vhost-scsi-pci code..
During the last weeks debugging on the QEMU vhost memory re-mapping bug,
my seabios builds have been using a smaller target ID (16) for scanning
than the default hard coded value of 256 in init_virtio_scsi().
After bumping this value back to 256 recently, a bogus out_num value

[PATCHv6 1/4] virtio: add names to virtqueue struct, mapping from devices to queues.
From: Rusty Russell <rusty at rustcorp.com.au>
Add a linked list of all virtqueues for a virtio device: this helps for
debugging and is also needed for upcoming interface change.
Also, add a "name" field for clearer debug messages.

[PATCH 0/3] virtio PCI driver
This patch series implements a PCI driver for virtio. This allows virtio
devices (like block and network) to be used in QEMU/KVM. I'll post a very
early KVM userspace backend in kvm-devel for those that are interested.
This series depends on the two virtio fixes I've posted and Rusty's config_ops
refactoring. I've tested with these patches on Rusty's experimental virtio

[PATCH 0/6] virtio: virtqueue ops cleanup
virtqueue ops were introduced in the hope that we'll
have multiple implementations besides virtio_ring,
but none have surfaced so far, and given that
existing virtio ring is deployed in production
we are likely stuck with it now, so this layer just
adds complexity and overhead.
Further, the need to pass vq twice to each call
(as in dev->vq->vq_ops->kick(dev->vq) ) adds potential

virtio_net and SMP guests
Rusty, Anthony, Dor,
I need your brain power :-)
On smp guests I have seen a problem with virtio (the version in curent Avi's
git) which do not occur on single processor guests:
kernel BUG at /space/kvm/drivers/virtio/virtio_ring.c:228!
illegal operation: 0001 [#1]

CPU: 2 Not tainted
Process swapper (pid: 0, task: 000000000f83e038, ksp: 000000000f877d70)

[PATCH] Remove pagesize parameter from vring_init/vring_size
The PAGE_SIZE constant should be used instead of taking an extra parameter.
Moreover, once we use PAGE_SIZE, we can use PAGE_ALIGN() instead of having it
open coded.
I've only compile tested the lguest launcher as I'm on a 64-bit system but I've
tested the virtio-pci device with KVM.
