Hi all, I've been working on lguest64 and in order to do this, I had to move a lot of the i386 specific out of the way. Well, the lguest64 port is still not ready to display, but before Rusty makes too many changes I would like this in upstream so I don't have to keep repeating my changes :-) So this patch series moves lguest32 out of the way for other archs. -- Steve

Hi all, These are the patches I'm planning to submit for 2.6.24. Comments gratefully accepted. Along with the usual cleanups and improvements are Jes' de-i386-ification patches, and a new "virtio" mechanism designed to be shared with KVM (and hopefully other hypervisors). Cheers, Rusty. Hi all, Glauber and I have been playing around with getting paravirt ops working on the x86_64. We have our own version of lguest running there too. We have lguest64 running up to console_init, and then it takes an interrupt storm. I'll be posting those patches tomorrow. Glauber and I have been sharing a git repo that isn't open to the public. It has a way to print page tables for either the host or the guest. It incorporates kallsyms, and can do a nice back trace of a guest when it crashes. The guest needs kallsyms obviously compiled in. Note: This code needs to be fixed to be more secure! Implements

Right now, I have lguest in-tree module compiling on x86_64. It's not yet on a sendable state, since the module itself isn't loading. However, this subset of the series is pretty straightforward, and I'm sending it now aiming at reducing the delta size in the future ;-) Have fun,

This patches are greatly influenced by Rusty Russell, and we tried to stay somewhat consistent with his work on the i386. But there are some major differences that we had to over come.
