[PATCH] virtio_blk: Dont waste major numbers
Rusty,
currently virtio_blk uses one major number per device. While this works
quite well on most systems it is wasteful and will exhaust major numbers
on larger installations.
This patch allocates a major number on init and will use 16 minor numbers
for each disk. That will allow ~64k virtio_blk disks.

[PATCH] virtio_net: Fix oops on early interrupts - introduced by virtio reset code
Avi,
this fixes a problem that was introduced by the virtio_reset patches.
Can you apply that fix to kvm.git as a bugfix, as the virtio_reset
infrastructure is not on Linus upstream yet?
Anthony, Dor,
are you ok with that change?
--
With the latest virtio_reset patches I got the following oops:
Unable to handle kernel pointer dereference at virtual kernel address 0000000000000000
Oops: 0004

[Bridge] A question about modify bridge source
Hello,
I just made some change of the bridge source which under kernel 2.4.20 ,to make it work automatically without any ioctl commands such as brctl .In this module I do ,it has only one br named BRIDGE which auto constructed in the module initiation ,and defined as a global variable "brg".And I add one eth card(eth0) to the br as a port .The main program is just below this page.

[PATCH/RFC] virtio_blk: check for hardsector size from host
Rusty, Jens,
I need your opinion on the following patch. It seems to work, but I would like
to get some feedback if this patch is the right approach:
---
Currently virtio_blk assumes a 512 byte hard sector size. This can cause
trouble / performance issues if the backing has a different block size
(like a file on an ext3 file system formatted with 4k block size or a dasd
device).

[PATCH RFC 1/3] virtio infrastructure
This attempts to implement a "virtual I/O" layer which should allow
common drivers to be efficiently used across most virtual I/O
mechanisms. It will no-doubt need further enhancement.
The details of probing the device are left to hypervisor-specific
code: it simple constructs the "struct virtio_device" and hands it to
the probe function (eg. virtnet_probe() or

[PATCH RFC net-next 2/2] drivers: net: virtio_net: Add tx_timeout function
From: Julio Faracco <jcfaracco at gmail.com>
To enable dev_watchdog, virtio_net should have a tx_timeout defined
(.ndo_tx_timeout). This is only a skeleton to throw a warn message. It
notifies the event in some specific queue of device. This function
still counts tx_timeout statistic and consider this event as an error
(one error per queue), reporting it.
