Device Drivers in xen, looking also for a white book about how xen works exactly
Hello, I'm reading an excellent documentation about virtualisation in embedded system. (available on open kernel labs site) I have read these things : (It talks about managing drivers in a virtualization system) "A straight virtualization approach can accomodate this by running the device the device driver inside the VMM. This requires porting all drivers to the hypervisor

'Dynamic' 3D plot
Hi, I am looking for a R package to draw 3d plot. But not in a static way like scatterplot3d or stuff like that. I would like to make rotate the plot, to zoom/unzoom etc..., actually to render the graph 'dynamic'... (for the biologist and bioinformatician, a R package which permitts to reproduce what pdb viewer does). Does a Way exist to do something like that in R ? Thanks,

Setting Resolution Modes in xorg.conf
I asked on the Gentoo forums, and surprisingly haven't gotten an answer. When I run xrandr, I get this output: Code: Screen 0: minimum 2960 x 1050, current 2960 x 1050, maximum 2960 x 1050 default connected 2960x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm 2960x1050 50.0* I'm using TwinView with a 1680x1050 monitor and a 1280x1024 monitor. And I want to set up some different modes in xrandr. When

SOLUTION: Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller - GDM login doesn't show up
This problem is so damn weird and frustrating that I thought it would be worthwhile to post this solution for anyone who may run into this situation in the future, since I was unable to find any mention of this after much searching, and no error messages appear in any logfiles that I could find either. This applies to a machine with a Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics

Minimizing WoW - Painfully low FPS
I can play WoW perfectly, it is 100% stable and I can get great fps. One problem though, when I minimize the game and I maximize it, sometimes I can just keep playing happily but sometimes thats not the case. I minimize it, maximize it again and the FPS drops to about 10-20fps (anywhere). As you might know, this is VERY annoying, I've tried changing loads of settings in-game with no help.

Hi I am trying to get Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 to launch under Kubuntu 10.04 & Wine 1.3.6. I'm using an Nvidia 8800 GTX 768Mb GPU with Nvidia blob driver 260.19.12. Anyway launching BF2142 (retail copy, patched to v1.5) gives me the following error (2x) in the console output streams: Code: ... err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found 800x600x32

no decorations on 2nd head using nvidia and aiglx
I've successfully set up 3 machines now (2 nvidia and one radeon 7500, all ubuntu gutsy) with compiz and aiglx and have been very happy with compiz on all of them. Scaling is wonderful. I'm trying to do my main workstation now which is a multihead (dual) configuration with an nvidia 6150: 00:05.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C51PV [GeForce 6150] (rev a2) Both displays

Apps segfaulting, problem with X?
Hello, I'm having big trouble getting wine to work. What I basically want to do is get steam to work, now it even fails to launch at all. It updates to 99% and then it segfaults. Other games has done this too (rollercoaster tycoon 2, starcraft 2). I followed the instructions on winehq, removed oriya/samyak fonts and I don't think I've done anything wrong - I've installed steam

outlier detection test for large data set
Hello, Which outlier detection test is robust for large dataset ? I think the detection test in the package 'outliers' are suitable for small data set (between 3 and 100). Lots of bugs in xubuntu lucid
Hello guys, i've decided to test nouveau driver and installed it recently from official repos. My videocard is GeForce 4 with additional S-video and Composite outputs, 64 MB of memory. I installed xubuntu, and tried to use nouveau driver instead of official nvidia's. After switching driver, the boot splash xubuntu logo turned into poor coloured low-resolutioned one, but X loaded normally.

Kernel modules: nvidia, nvidia-173, nvidia-current, nouveau
Since upgrading from Ubuntu 10.10 I have had problems with graphics. The problems started after I initially upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 but then installed xubuntu-desktop over it, but I have had the same problem all my fresh installs of Xubuntu 11.04 too. FPS previously averaging about 30 or 35 FPS while playing an OpenGL game with WINE now starts at 20 FPS for 2 or 3 minutes and then slows down to

multiple cards and monitors with xrandr and opengl
Hi, Thanks for your advice..! I have a few follow-up questions (tagged below Q1, Q2 and Q3). Any help highly/extremely appreciated. Regarding to "reverse prime", etc. I have read the following page: https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/Optimus/ So, if we want a single "macro" xscreen that spans two cards, for example: Card 0, connected to monitor 0 Card 1, connected to
