Multiple concurrent rsyncs: an idea...
Yesterday, as I was still waiting for a large rsync mirror to finish, I
was thinking that it would be interesting if you could run multiple
rsyncs and have them cooperate to mirror a repository from several
different sources. I think a close approximation should be fairly
easy to do, but I just won't have any time to do it.
My thought is that it could be implemented fairly inexpensively by

Patch: Set SSH_AUTHKEY to key id used to authenticate.
Attached is a patch which sets the SSH_AUTHKEY environment variable to be
the remaining data at the end of an SSH key which is used for
authentication.
The motivation behind this is that there are time in which it's useful to
know who is on the other end of the connection. For example, if I log in
as root on a box, I'd like to be able to configure vi-specific settings,

Environment variable with key ID in it?
A couple of years ago I submitted a patch which exported the SSH public
key id to the user environment. My reasoning at the time was that I
wanted a way to set up a particular environment when I connected to an
account that was shared among several different users. That patch was
never accepted, I don't recall if it was because you could use the
"user environment" functionality or

[LLVMdev] FORTRAN compiler status?
Dear LLVMers,
Does anyone know what the latest is w.r.t a FORTRAN front-end for
LLVM? Is anyone expecting to have typical f90/f95 programs compiling to
LLVM this year, or next? (I'm aware of the "NAG hack" and various other
f2c-type approaches, but they give me a strange feeling in my tummy.)

Request for drbdlinks package in Extras repository
Hello,
well, the subject says it all :-)
Could drbdlinks ( http://www.tummy.com/Community/software/drbdlinks/ ) be
added to Extras repo, alongside DRBD packages ?
Thanks in advance

support for Fortran will be much easier once LLVM rebases itself

Rsyslog and "Error while reading from Linux ethertap device /dev/net/tun: File descriptor in bad state"
Hi,
I recently had a machine filling up its harddisk with syslog and tinc
pilling up milions of messages like this:
"Error while reading from Linux ethertap device /dev/net/tun: File
descriptor in bad state"
I remembered that there was a difference between rsyslog and other
loggers, where one of those was skipping those messages, and simply
was displaying:

ethertap device: File descriptor in bad state
I've been running tincd on several machines without a problem.
I'm now setting up a new intel-type dual-processor machine, with a custom
compiled 2.4.9 linux kernel.
When I start the daemon: tincd -n vpn -dddddddddd
I get the following debug information in in /var/log/messages
Aug 27 17:26:49 q tinc.vpn[971]: Process 972 (tinc-up) exited with non-zero

[LLVMdev] FORTRAN compiler status?
I just noticed this - I can't promise any particular amount of TLC, but
I'll certainly be giving the Fortran front-end some attention as soon as
LLVM moves to gcc 4.2.
For future reference, does anyone know of a good free Fortran compiler
test suite?
Cheers,

Problem withs hosts/ -files & Ethertap with 2.4.x
Hello folks!
I have a little problem when I'm trying to set up a small VPN between two
hosts.
The problem is that when I try to sepcify an IP-adress in
/etc/tinc/netname/hosts/hostfile using Adress = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx syslog says;
Invalid variable name on line 2 while reading config file
/etc/tinc/boppen/hosts/melc

PBIB datataset
I'm looking at Pinheiro & Bates "Mixed-Effects Models in
S and S-PLUS" at the moment. Several datasets are used,
one of which is called "PBIB" (a partially balanced
incomplete block design).
All the other datasets can be found somewhere or other in R.
However, I cannot locate PBIB, and it does not seem to
be mentioned in the latest edition of the R Full Reference
