Bash automation for Samba (small office/home office)
Hello,
I developed a Bash script to automate the installation and
configuration of open-source software (i.e., launchpad.net/linuxsoho).
I want to make sure the syntax of this script is perfect so I can use
it as a teaching tool to educate people about Linux.
I need to know if there is anything misconfigured with my Samba syntax.
If you find a bug in LinuxSOHO, please submit a bug report to

Best Cluster Storage
Hi Everyone,
I wish to create a Postfix/Dovecot active-active cluster (each node will
run Postfix *and* Dovecot), which will obviously have to use central
storage. I'm looking for ideas to see what's the best out there. All of
this will be running on multiple Xen hosts, however I don't think that
matters as long as I make sure that the cluster nodes are on different

Dial plan questions
I'm afraid I'm quite confused by what I've found on the Wiki.
I have the following dial plan that works:
exten => 2201,1,Dial(sip/2201@gs1.uucp,20,)
exten => 2201,2,Voicemail(u2201)
exten => 2201,3,Hangup
exten => 2201,102,voicemail(b2201)
exten => 2201,104,hangup
When the phone is in use it goes to voice mail as busy. When not
picked up, as

Again kea DHCP-Server
Well? I?m not convinced KEA can?t be simple DHCP, though I understand that one
would never know that from reading the KEA documentation.
The following is a complete KEA configuration suitable to do a single subnet. In fact, you could probably get away with slightly less.
I?ve replaced the unique addresses from my environment with placeholders (e.g. <network/mask>), but otherwise, this is a

load balancing SIP extensions
What I would like to do is have two identical *
servers which accept registrations of sip extensions
4000-4999.
If I define a rrDNS or LinuxHA then I should have
load-balanced registrations.
However, say ext. 4001 is registered on *1 and 4002 is
registered on *2, if 4001 tries to call 4002 then I
would like to do something like:
- lookup 4002 on *1, try to establish a call if it's

Where's crm (from pacemaker-cli) on CentOS 6.4?
Hi,
After upgrade the nodes on one of my HA clusters I find that "crm" isn't
on the pacemaker-cli package. After some research on the web I find this:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/linuxha/pacemaker/84376?page=last
That thread points to this OpenSuSE repo:

Which suply the new

Old bump of thread:
But... what you can't do with dnsmasq is send dynamic updates to bind to
keep your subnet name resolution straight or handle failover of that function.

Nut fsd command ignored: bcmxcp_usb driver, Powerware 5105 UPS
Hi
I'm having a problem with the bcmxcp_usb driver FSD command: everything
seems to work apart from:
upsmon -c fsd
Environment: Ubuntu 7.04, nut 2.0.5-1, nut-usb 2.0.5-1, Powerware 3105
UPS.
upsd appears to send the FSD command to the UPS, upsmon then runs my
NOTIFYCMD (which halts my PC) but the UPS just doesn't turn off.
Here are the /var/log/daemon.log entries:

ACL problem after upgrade from 3.0.24 to 3.4.5
Hello,
After upgrading from Debian Etch with samba 3.0.24-6etch10 to Lenny
with a backport of 2:3.4.5~dfsg-1 (with libtalloc2 2.0.1-1), i get a
fully working service but with a strange ACL bug : people can
create/delete/rename files, but not modify them (error "espace

NV25 doesn't draw most icons
Hello!
I've installed Fedora 20 Mate i386 on an old system with GeForce4 Ti

not shown. They can reappear if they are selected of the mouse goes
over them. Screenshot:

SVN migration status
It looks like the Subversion migration is working. The CVS repository
is still there, but in read-only mode. However, the SVN repository
preserves the version history of the CVS repository, albeit organized
slightly differently.
For an introduction to Subversion, this online book is essential:

It is written by some of the Subversion authors. The only drawback I

Rebasing a 4.11 windows build to current Samba.
Andrew,
Thank you for responding. I originally started down that track but had problems building several dependencies early on. I opted to move it to Cygwin because it was more familiar for me and many of the required dependencies were buildable. With more experience now I can certainly see your point as far as getting a windows build for mainline, so I may try that again soon.

Again kea DHCP-Server
Hi to all,
nearly one year ago someone ask about the kea-DHCP support for Samba. In
the Samba wiki I still can only find the idc-dhcp stuff. @Rowland will
you (and can you) replace or add the setup of kea to the wiki? Would be
nice :-)

setup my sendmail.mc to route Sendmail mails through the Gmail SMTP?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Linux HA may not be the best choice in your situation. High Availability using 2 sites
Just to clarify, I'm looking at this from an application layer Point of
View. One of the reasons why I'm looking at it that way, is because Tim
said he was looking at LinuxHA..."application level" redundancy that
uses IP.
Tim, just to let you know, I don't believe that LinuxHA will work in the
way you described, only because of the different IP ranges. It looks
like Linux
