D-link ag 530 on freebsd (atheros)
Hi all, I bought a d-link ag530 pci card and I have a surprise. ath0: <Atheros 5212> mem 0xdffe0000-0xdffeffff irq 18 at device 10.0 on pci0 ath0: unable to collect channel list from hal; regdomain likely 19 country code 0 I remember that we had to use ar5k.c to rewrite the regdomain on the eeprom. Some old ag530 cards I had done successfully, but the newer ones... On mikrotik routeros i

Any way to run tinc on MikroTik routers?
Hello, Please excuse my (probably newbie) question, but: Since RouterOS, MikroTik's proprietary OS, is largely based on GNU/Linux, anyone knows a way to run tinc on a MikroTik device? This would be in order to make an (imposed, no choice given...) MikroTik device (say the B1100AHX4 router) to participate in a tinc mesh, in interoperation with GNU/Linux machines. Please see:

Any way to run tinc on MikroTik routers?
*hvjunk said:* > Get a RPi (or faster/cheaper/equivalent), and bridge it into the Mikrotik………. Unfortunately, I don't think this is an option (even if I may put there a full PC, not only a Raspberry Pi), for a few reasons: - what I'm trying to achieve is to substitute MikroTik's native L2TP/IPSec tunnels with tinc, not to have TWO tunnels - supposing I have two different tunnels

Ancient SMB client issues
Hi Anders,I solved the same problem last year. A bunch of machines with Windows NT4 (no USB, hehe).I set up a Samba server (4.18) and the machines in an isolated network with a router/firewall. The Samba server can only be reached by a couple of workstations from the main company networks using SMB_311. The workstations store job files on a Samba share, and the machines have only got read access

CentOS and Atheros
What's the easiest path to having my Atheros wireless cards supported, particularly in C5? In the past, I've chosen to download source and build my own, but that's become a little tiresome. At one point, OpenSUSE was the easy option, but since 10.1 it's dropped madwifi. -- Cheers John -- spambait 1aaaaaaa at coco.merseine.nu Z1aaaaaaa at coco.merseine.nu Please do not

Atheros AR5141
Hi I got myself a nice little R52 802.11a/b/g MiniPCI Card for our router. This card is using the Atheros AR5141 chipset. I searched everywhere to find out more info on this and came across a few pages where it said that the AR5141 chipset is supported but when I stick the card in the router and boot FreeBSD 7-STABLE it hangs when loading the Atheros drivers It stops right after this ath0:

how to install Atheros AR5008 on CentOS 5.5 in console-only mode?
Hi all, I hope someone can help me. I'm trying to setup a D-Link DWA-547 on CentOS 5.5 x64 in console only mode, i.e. there's no X installed. The Wiki article suggests using NetWork Manager, but since there's no X installed on this server, it's not possible. How do I go about installing this card? Here's the output of lspci -v: 01:00.0 Network controller: Atheros

Support for the Atheros wireless chipset in 3.4 and 4.0
Atheros support is not ''built in'' for 3.4, so I need some pointers on adding it. Is it in 4.0? It is in the current Novell Linux desktop professional (we used that on a system the other week). The reason for Atheros support, is that all the network anaylsis tools work well with it (and I have one!).

Wifi wpa_supplicant with atheros successes or failures?
I remember being a small part of and following this thread a few months ago. <http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2006-May/065091.html> I've been attempting a go at getting wpa_supplicant running on CentOS 4.3 and haven't had much luck. I'm assuming my failure is my lack of knowledge on the subject, but anyways. First, my normal setup is as follows: IBM Thinkpad R40

Installed plus kernel, kudzu did not see atheros wifi
I took the dive and installed the CentosPlus kernel. I remembered that I could always boot with the old kernel if things went south. But on reboot, kudzu wanted to delete the Atheros config. I told it not to, but.... Would a simple 'freshen' of madwifi-0.9.1-24.el4.at.i386.rpm ? an rpm -qa |grep wifi returns: madwifi-kmdl-2.6.9-34.0.2.EL-0.9.1-24.el4.at madwifi-0.9.1-24.el4.at

What ever happened to the dkms atheros drivers/
My OQO boxes have the AR5413 wifi chipset, so for the first time in quite a while, I again need to run madwifi. So I went looking for the dkms madwifi rpms, but could not find them. They use to be on rpmforge, as I recall. dkms is there. So have I lost some memory cells or have these rpms taken a hike?

Hello. I have an * server set up on a public IP. I have SIP clients at three different locations, all behind NATs. Atheros AR5212/AR5213 wifi not working
Hello everyone, I'm new to the CentOS list, so forgive me if this has been answered before (someone please point me to an efficient way of searching through the list archives). I have a wifi card from the subject line, and have the driver installed. Using NetworkManager under Gnome everything works perfectly. However, I prefer to use network service instead of NetworkManager since a) I use

article for consideration, Atheros 5007EG wireless card
I have a page where I document getting the increasingly popular AR5007EG Atheros wireless card working. (This is the card used in the Asus EEE PC). The current article covers several distributions, but would be modified to just cover CentOS. It does, however, involve getting third party software, as the rpmforge repos don't have the necessary drivers. (Apparently, it's a bit of a
