?OT? Linux 2.6: bridge + routing firewall
Hi All!
I need to deploy a bridge firewall using linux kernel 2.6. I had success
using kernel 2.4 plus br-nf patch. But the configuration does not work with
kernel 2.6.
If the default policy for the iptables FORWARD chain is ACCEPT I have a
bridge. If iptables FORWARD chain is DROP I have an insulator (no packet
flows). Any hint?
I did some google search and in many places they say "kernel

[PATCH] don''t require ebtables in the host kernel
The network-bridge script fails when setting a few sysctls
which are only available if ebtables is present in the host
kernel. Fix by ignoring the return value of the sysctl command.

Squid in bridging mode
Still learning Xen, and would like to know if it''s possible to run Squid in
D0 when running in bridging mode. I have iptables and ebtables going, and
am able to log packets with those, but can''t seem to get any traffic out of
the bridge into Squid in D0 (or through iptables in D0, for that matter).
Information I''ve gathered so far is that I need

[Bridge] RH 9 problems iptbles + bridge
Hi,
I've been running RH 7.2 with a kernel-2.4.9-13brnf0.0.3 for a very long time
and works just fine.
A couple of weeks ago I thought I'd install a new fresh installation with rh9
and load the bridge module that comes with the rh kernel ( 2.4.20-24.9 ).
The bridge itself works just fine but the firewalling dont.
There is no packets passing the FORWARD chain... Have I missed something

[Bridge] Can bridge be 'seen' by ip6tables?
Hello!
Recently,I¡¯m doing a security project based upon ipv6.I have built up a bridge to support a transparent firewall.(my system is Fedora Core 2,kernel 2.6.5).In this system ,the version of the iptables is 1.2.7,which does not support ipv6(I have tried it).Thus,I download a new version and test it.
The iptables functions in bridge mode,but the ipv6 doesn't work well.In the

tinc - switch mode bridge
Hi
I am testing running tinc in switch mode. , my topology is as follows
Site 1 (tinc-srv01) -> Site 2 (tinc-srv02)
I have configured the bridge interfaces with ip addresses and able to ping
between bridges. I then setup a server on each site and tested layer 2
connectivity between the two servers. Topology as follows.
Server 1 - *Site 1* (tinc-srv01) -> *Site 2* (tinc-srv02) - Server 2
