Encoder performance on ARM9
Hi there, I've just started to work with the great speex encoder on ARM9-based embedded platform. This is my configuration: CPU: Cirrus Logic EP9315 @ 200 MHz (ARM920T) o.s.: Linux 2.6.9-rc2-ep93xx GCC: gcc version 3.3.3 (DENX ELDK 3.1 3.3.3-10) without MaverickCrunch support ogg library: 1.0 speex command line configuration: ./configure --enable-fixed-point --enable-arm4-asm The code is

Then I run following command # ifconfig eth0 down # ifconfig usb0 down # brctt addbr ipbr # brctl addif ipbr eth0 # brctl addif ipbr usb0 # ifconfig eth0 up # ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0 # ifconfig usb0 up # ifconfig usb0 0.0.0.0 # ifconfig ipv6 up

Encoder performance on ARM9
Hi llandre, I think it's worth trying the float version on your CPU. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the fixed-point was still faster than float. BTW, you can use --enable-arm5-asm instead of --enable-arm4-asm. While both are currently almost the same, eventually it would be possible to get better performance using the ARM5E DSP-like instructions. Jean-Marc > This processor

strange speed issue
Hello, I'm trying to connect some windows machines together using tinc 1.0.6. The basic connectivity (ping) works fine as expected. But I'm getting really poor speeds over the tinc tunnel. The test machines are on the same switch and get values ranging from 6-9 MBytes/s speaking directly to each other. However over the tinc tunnel the speeds are in the range of 20-40 kbytes/s. The machines

error: failed reading from tcp: Connection reset by peer
All, I see the following message fairly frequently in our nsd.log files: error: failed reading from tcp: Connection reset by peer A quick grep through the source code reveals that this log message comes from server.c, and can come pretty much at any time during a TCP query. Since: - This condition occurs during normal operation, and - There is nothing a server operator can do about it. I

I'd strongly advice to use a higher performance micro. Let's consider that you'd succeed in getting it working right after optimizations. The time you want to add other speex features or other

Decent Performance
Hi all, I am trying to get some decent speed out of a vanilla Debian (Proxmox) box and am running out of ideas. Basically I can exchange data at 110MB/sec (raw, nfs, ftp) but not with Samba shares. I tried almost every samba tuning tip I could find to no avail. The only optimisation left to smb.conf at the moment is debug level = 0. As one can see the robocopy throughput is merely half of what

Asterisk and Linejacks
I found a message from you to the asterisk users mailing list from 2001. I was wondering if you got (or still have) an asterisk system working with the linejack? If so, would you be willing to assist me with mine? I seem to have things working, and * says that caller ID is coming in, but I can't get * to actually answer the call. Thanks, Greg -- NetIO.org

VSP? Looking for advice.
Has anyone tried using BroadVoice for VSP? I have Asterisk configured for a home office & I've been trying to decide which VoIP provider to go with for a little while now. I had heard you could get sub $.01 calls but I have not found that to be true yet (not saying it's not possible, I just haven't found it!). Also I'm not sure if BV will support multiple lines. Any

cross-compiling nut
Hello, I would like to run nut 2.6.1 on an embeeded machine ( arm9 ) running linux and uclibc. A working gcc tool chain came with the board. How can I compile and build nut using the cross compiler tool chain ? I know that this is not a very specific question. I have however little experience with cross compiling, and I wonder where to start. A logical point would be the configure script. It
