[Bridge] bridge-utils + Linksys WET11
So, I'm setting up my first bridge, and I'm running into an interesting issue. I have a 4 port NIC (formerly 4 seperate /29 and /28 LANs) and an onboard NIC (to my ISP). I've setup the bridge using the script included at the bottom of this email (modified from Gentoo for Aurora). When the WET11 (the WET11 is a simple ethernet to wireless bridge) is unplugged, the bridge works

UDP unicast network backend (QEMU)
In 2012 QEMU added UDP unicast network backend support https://github.com/qemu/qemu/commit/0e0e7facc775e9bb020314f48751b3d09f316c8b#diff-a0a1810b6e249e68f1a290e37399becb Checked latest libvirt on the git repo, and didn't see this as an option. So tried to use the mcast tunnel mode. I keep getting duplicate packets with BPDUs and LLDP packets going between the Point to point connection

Custom kernel needed for ndiswrapper? (for Linksys WPC54G wireless pcmcia)
Greetings: I'm just installed Centos-4 on an IBM T-21 laptop. So far so good. Now I'd like to pop in a wireless lan adapter. I'm looking at a buying a Linksys WPC54G adapter (although I haven't done so yet). After doing some searching, it looks like the best way to get this card working is via ndiswrapper [http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net] and then to use Windoze

Turning Wireless Radio on and off: how?
Hi all, I've got a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a Broadcom 1390 Wlan mini card (integrated) wireless lan chipset. I've got an init script setup to activate the wireless connection at boot time, however when the system boots the adapter doesn't connect. I'm not able to get a connection until after the desktop is done loading and I run the script from the command line. After some

Configuring an Intel 3945 wireless card: partial success
Hi, My wife has a new ASUS laptop with an Intel 3945 wireless card. I'm running CentOS 5 on all our desktops here (at work and at home), and I'm quite happy with it. I had a partial success in configuring the wireless card. Basically I'm using [base], [updates], [extra] and [rpmforge] repos, configured with the yum-priorities plugin. Priority 10 for RPMForge, 1 for the others.

Bridge not forwarding multicast traffic to the tap interface
I have a Debian 8 64-bit machine set up as a server and apt-got the tinc package. I configured tinc as a bridge and everything seems normal except that the tunnel does not forward multicast traffic. I used tcpdump to examine the br0, eth0 and tap interfaces. I could see multicast packets on both br0 and eth0, but there is no such packet present on the tap interface. I don't quite know why

Install Successes!
The CentOS drive for the HP NC4010 is built. I just needed to use external instead of USB power for my USB CDrom. Go figure... I did this in my hotel room, where they only have wireless. I went down to the 'business center' and used an ethernet drop, but I don't think the registration worked. I didn't know that even for the ehternet drops you have to do that portal thing

Using domain logons with 2 controllers and wireless lan
Hi all, Sorry if the subject is a bit irrelevant or hard to understand, I have no idea on what subject should I put down. My company has a samba domain controller. All users must logon before they can gain access to the fileserver and printers. My home also has a samba domain controller. I use it mainly for file sharing on my home network. Now I am planning to purchase a laptop with wireless

Wireless LANs and Asterisk
Has anyone had any experience with wireless LANs and Asterisk? We have and here are my impressions. We configured an Asterisk in the office as a precaution to see how it would work for our own retail customers. Our office is open space, about 800 sq ft. (20x40 area). We use Snom200 and Grandstream SIP phones. Using the latest Linksys wireless access point (WAP54g) and 3 wireless bridges

[Bridge] Interface or Linux crashes when put in bridge mode
Hi all, let me see if I can explain my problem in an explicable way. I have written a WLAN driver which runs on a dedicated box (e.g. not a PCMCIA card). The box is plugged into a client that wants WLAN connectivity via Ethernet. E.g.: [ ] Ethernet [ ] RF/WLAN [ Laptop ]------------------[ WLAN adapter ]------------- [ ] [ ]

Re: Setting up port forwarding to guests on nat network
Thanks for the reply! output: net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 What do you mean "The out:any and" Anywhere else I can look as to why the connection isn't going? Do I need some kind of listener at that port on the host? I'm not even seeing the packet count on the prerouting chain increase when the connection attempts are made. Setting up port forwarding to guests on nat network
Hello all, I’m currently trying to figure out how to forward ports to guests that are on a NAT Network. I have followed the directions on https://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking under the “Forwarding Incoming Connections” Section and get connection refused when attempting to connect. System: Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 Virsh / LibVirtd Version: 4.0.0 Here’s the contents of /etc/libvirt/hooks/qemu

wireless ATA
I have a need for an ATA that will register over wifi. *NOT* a DECT phone or other cordless type phone plugged into a wired ATA. Not seeing one right off, and following the recent discussions about compact fanless systems, I thought a custom build-your-own might not only be useful for my purpose, but may be a viable product in its own right. So I started looking for mini-PCI based FXS cards.
