Ceph on btrfs 3.4rc
After running ceph on XFS for some time, I decided to try btrfs again. Performance with the current "for-linux-min" branch and big metadata is much better. The only problem (?) I''m still seeing is a warning that seems to occur from time to time: [87703.784552] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [87703.789759] WARNING: at fs/btrfs/inode.c:2103

virDomainGetInfo() returns wrong domain state
Hi Team, I have written below code to get the VM state at run time. I found, though the VM is in shut-off state, when I use the function virDomainGetInfo(); I get state as running. Could you please let me know what wrong I am doing. To know the actual VM state I used 'virsh list' and it clearly shows the VM is in shut-off state. Please find the log and code snippet below. Log from virsh:

[PATCH] Btrfs: protect orphan block rsv with spin_lock
We''ve been seeing warnings coming out of the orphan commit stuff forever from ceph. Turns out it''s because we''re racing with checking if the orphan block reserve is set, because we clear it outside of the spin_lock. So leave the normal fastpath checks where they are, but take the spin_lock and _recheck_ to make sure we haven''t had an orphan block rsv added in

Kernel 2.6.35 (Ubuntu 10.10): Unable to mount (orphan list)
Hi, I''m using btrfs on Ubuntu 10.10 for some test partitions. After doing some normal operations I suddenly couldn''t mount the partition anymore. I always get the error "BTRFS: inode 120790 still on the orphan list" in the kernel log again and again and it''s impossible to stop the mount command or shutdown the system. Any ideas how to work around this issue?

linux box as vlan p2p limiter and firewall?
re I would like to do some firewalling and p2p shaping/limiting on one of the vlans in my network and I was thinking of using linux box as transparent bridged firewall/limiter. For this I''m planning to use AMD64 2.2Ghz box with 2 1gbit NIC (Broadcom 5721), that will be bridged. The box must be totally transparent and unseen in the network, as well as it should have much influence on

Aastra 480 i
Getting "no service" display on aastra 480i. Sip debug shows an "unathorized" blub when the aastra tries to register. Some reading indicates that 1.4 firmware wants aastra.cfg and mac.cfg in /tftpboot/. There are none. Anyone have basic config files? Or can point me to a good link? All links I have tried, that purport to have config files, are either dead or error out.

arm64 support
I have used the patch to build opus 1.1. Although I have not tried the latest git master, will try that. Will that work for armv7, armv7s and arm64? pxelinux
Hello H. Peter, we use pxelinux to start linux on desktop pcs. Now we have a problem with the interaction of dhcp. If the ip address is not fix, we cannot use the ip address as name for the configfile. A better solution would be, first to check for the mac and then for the ip address. Is it possible? TIA, Tobias

Samba - Performance Issues
Hello Guys, I am having some problems with configuring SAMBA with regards to performance. We are running SAMBA 2.2.3a on Dual PIII 1Ghz machines with 512MB of RAM. The server is running on a default server installation of Red Hat 7.2. We have a 500Gb RAID 5 drive using the Promise SX6000 Raid controller. Currently we are only getting a throughput of ~5MB/S for writes and ~13MB/S for reads.

[LLVMdev] Alias Analysis across functions
Hi, I am trying to get the alias info for the following code. The alias analysis returns "MayAlias" for arrays "A" and "B" in both the functions instead of "NoAlias". What passes should I run in opt before the alias analysis pass to get the accurate result? Example: //Note: static and called by func() only. static int sum(int *A, int *B) { int i = 0,

Memory Allocation to St
Can anyone tell me why the size of st is defined as: st = (EncState*)speex_alloc(sizeof(EncState)+8000*sizeof(float)); Reference: nb_encode_init function. Specifically, I would like to know why 8000 floats are allocated? Thanks and regards, Vinay -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Observing few fields in a form - Best Practise?
Hi, im looking to build a page similar to a shopping cart page. When you change the ''price'' or ''quantity'' fields, the total is calculated and displayed. There are other fields in the form which have no relation to this action. So i guess observe_form is not required. Can someone tell me what the best practise is for this?

Re: [libvirt] virDomainGetInfo() returns wrong domain state
Yes, I am sure because other information pulled are correct. And the same way we have used libvirt APIs to extract other informations at different places. My question is if VM is in shut-off state does it mean running ? IF not, what is the correct state for this VM. I am wondering why the state is 'unsigned char' in virDomainGetInfo, why it could not be 'enum' as it is returning

upgrade problem
Currently we have RH7.3 with compiler gcc 2.96.x My mission, should I choose to accept it, involves moving our embedded application to CentOS 4.1 with gcc 3.x Problem is that about 1/2 million lines of code that gcc 2.96 accepts gives fatal fits to the gcc 3.x compiler from CentOS 4.1 I don't know how many fatal fits, as some disguise others etc. "Can't find register to
