"scripts are not supported on interfaces of type vhostuser" error
Hi, I'm having trouble starting a VM with vhostuser interfaces. I have a simple configuration where a VM running Debian has 1 vhostuser interface plugged into an OVS switch where a DPDK interface is already plugged in. $ ovs-vsctl show: Bridge "switch1" Port "switch1" Interface "switch1" type: internal Port "1.switch1"

Completely isolating P2P/BitTorrent traffic
Hi all, I''m tring to isolate P2P traffic, specifically BitTorrent, for my QoS scripts. I can''t seem to completely isolate ALL BitTorrent traffic. I identify & mark packets and then use tc filters to put them into appropriate classes. My firewall rules (below) do the markings. My VoIP boxes'' and ICMP traffic get highest priority (mark 1). Then comes DNS, SSH,

Troubles upgrading jailed DC from 4.8.7 to 4.8.9
Hello. On several FreeBSD 11.2/amd64 servers, I've got a jail dedicated to running Samba as an AD DC. Some days ago I upgraded one of them from 4.8.7 to 4.8.9 and suddenly everything stopped working. Since it was a production box, I immediately restored the whole jail from a backup, with no chance to better investigate. Today, with more time, I tried on another server and again I run

[Bridge] Interesting fragmentation behavior with gretap interface.
I'm trying to bridge a mix of 802.1q tagged and untagged Ethernet frames through the new Ethernet over GRE functionality in kernel 2.6.28 The hosts handling the tunnel (192.168.200.6, 192.168.200.2) are connected together through with a simple cross cable through their eth1 interface. The switches are connected to their respective eth0 interface, which is bridged with their respective gretap

need help with tc filters
Hi, I am attempting to set up some simple outbound shaping following the LARTC HOWTO. The HTB qdisc seems to work as the documentation says, but my filters don''t seem to be working. All of the packets go to the default queue regardless of what filters I set, it seems. (according to tc -s qdisc show) I am trying to get this working on my openwrt box (whiterussian rc6), but when

Troubles upgrading jailed DC from 4.8.7 to 4.8.9
This sounds familiar... I suggest you try without the interface names and only ipnumbers. Test 1) interfaces = 10.1.2.34/24 127.0.0.1 bind interfaces only = yes nbt client socket address = 127.0.0.1 Try again. In addition to test 1, Test 2. > ntlm auth=YES Remove that from the smb.conf then try again. At least for this test remove it. After a web search I found the solution

shorewall vrf support
Hey guys, I have a question regarding shorewall and vrf functionality. I have shorewall 3.4.8 and kernel 2.6.24-gentoo-r8 I have tried to use iproute2 (ip route and ip rule) to establish multiple routing tables. The biggest problem seems to be, that I cannot add interfaces such as vlan interfaces to the routing table. My target is that linux takes attention of on which vlan interface

VLAN issue
OK, thanks again for all your help. I have resolved this, finally. The problem was that I configured VLAN 48 as the native VLAN on the trunk port. That was a mistake as apparently the native VLAN is the one where Cisco does not bother to tag packets. For now I set the native VLAN to VLAN 1 and that works. Cheers, Boris. On Sun, Jan 25, 2015 at 7:13 PM, Boris Epstein <borepstein at
