edited accordingly, and rm-ed that idmap schema line on DM.
I now have on the DM:

workgroup = BUERO
realm = secret.AT
netbios name = SERVER
security = ADS
map to guest = Bad User

rsync script for snapshot backups
Hey guys,
i tried to create a simple rsync script that should create daily backups
from a ZFS storage and put them into a timestamp folder.
After creating the initial full backup, the following backups should
only contain "new data" and the rest will be referenced via hardlinks
(-link-dest)
This was at least a simple enough scenario to achieve it with my
pathetic scripting skills.

question difference of roaming profile between WinXP and Win7
Hello
I want to add Win7 machine to my Samba PDC with WinXP clients. Google tells me I have to add a .V2 to my profiles. The samba log ask about a .v2 share.
Can someone explain me the difference of the v2 extension at the profile names and the roaming profile share?
Following my settings:
smb.conf:
[global]
logon path = \\%L\nt-profile
logon home = \\%L\nt-profile
[nt-profile]

more cleanup: mis-named AD user
Stefan...
You changed the user his password while, I said, change the Adminisitrator password.
Let him logout and login again or you monitor his event logs remotely and see what happens if you change the Administrator password.
And try this.
!root = BUERO\Administrator BUERO\administrator
Last question that share, any special settings?

upgraded DC shows IDs instead of usernames
Well, it was quiet and stable for quite a while now .. thanks to all the
devs ;-)
This weekend I upgraded some Debian servers, from Debian 9.12 to 10.4
One of these is a Samba-4.10.15 DC and I didn't touch the samba config
at all.
Now smbstatus shows uids and gids in smbstatus output:
# smbstatus
Samba version 4.10.15-Debian
PID Username Group Machine
Protocol Version
