VT6102 and RTL 8100
Hi, does anyone have any idea whether VIA VT6102 "Rhine II" and Realtek RTL 8100 Ethernet chips are supported by FreeBSD? The hardware list for supported chips does list 'VT86C100A "Rhine II"' but according to VIA website VT86C100A is actually just "Rhine" and it is obviously not the same chip. (The 'VT3043 "Rhine I"' chip mentioned in

Ethernet puzzle
So I just finished doing a fresh install of CentOS 6.3. The machine has three ethernet ports in it: one on the motherboard (VIA Rhine), and two add-on cards, an Intel Pro100 and an old SMC1255TX. When CentOS comes up, this is what I see in the dmesg output: # dmesg | grep eth e100 0000:00:08.0: eth0: addr 0xf6043000, irq 16, MAC addr 00:02:b3:be:02:87 eth1: ADMtek Comet rev 17

Centos 4.4 install on ASUS A8V-VM does not find SATA drives
Yes, I know someone last week asked a similar question (Problem with ASUS P5VD2-X X SATA II) but the only answer I saw on that thread was the equivalent of "I've heard it's bad so I won't do it." Unfortunately, that doesn't help me much. The BIOS does indeed recognise my two SATA hard drives, and I've got the BIOS set to "IDE" (which disables

PXE-Boot fails after reboot with kernel 2.6.x
Hello list, I've been using PXE Boot for quite some time now and it has been working without any problems. I'm using a Biostar M7VIZ mainboard with a VIA KM400 chipset, and VIA-Rhine VT6102 NIC. Yesterday I upgrade the Kernel on my net-boot machine from 2.4.24 to 2.6.12. When I power on the machine it boots up normally. However, when I reboot the machine, the mainboards PXE-ROM only

Plotting labeled impulses: label collision
Dear all, As you can see from the attachment I'm using R to automatically annotate peptide fragmentation mass spectra, which are represented by impulse plots. I'd like to poll you on approaches of how to deal as generally as possible with the two biggest annotation issues I run into: 1) very close annotated masses (impulses) with similar y-axis dimensions - resulting in overlapping labels

Fast Normalize by Group
Hi, I have a very large data set (aprox. 100,000 rows.) The data comes from around 10,000 "groups" with about 10 entered per group. The values are in one column, the group ID is an integer in the second column. I want to normalize the values by group: for(g in unique(groups){ x[group==g] / sum(x[group==g]) } This works find in a loop, but is slow. Is there a faster way to do

Determine if Call is from a cellular phone
Does anyone know if there is a way to get a DB or any other means to see if I can see if a call is coming from a cell phone or not. If I am able to see if it is cellular or not is there any way to see aprox. what area the phone is in (I know this wont be simple but would it work if I have an agreeement with the cell phone companies) ? This is for the US. Thanks. Dovid -------------- next part

A lot of dovecot/imap processes
Hello! I have a dovecot installed and many users could login via IMAP over SSL (40 users at same time aprox). Users could have "Check mail every X time" enabled in their client (Thunderbird or K-9 mail) - Is this required feature? I noted that if I disable it I still getting news mails without having to check for new mails manually - . I noted that dovecot is creating a lot of

D-Link announces Asterisk on Router/DSL-Modem
Found this today: D-Link has apparently positioned itself to challenge the AVM Fritz!Box (which is an analog & ISDN home PBX including DSL modem, router, LAN & WLAN). The PBX service of this device called "HorstBox Professional" DVA- G3342SB will be provided by Asterisk, and it should become available sometime around Q2/2006 for aprox. 450 EUR (let me add that this is twice as

Printer accounting/quota ?
Hi all, I am about to install a Samba server at a local school, and i need some advice and/or experience from others who have worked on a installation of that type/size. My plan is to roll-out a Samba server (of course), with LDAP back-end, and a number of printer queue's via CUPS. There will be aprox. 1000 user accounts, mostly students. The school has asked for a solution that would

Network interface fails after kernel upgrade
Hi Yum has just updated 5 of my Linux boxes running CentOS 4.3 to the 2.6.9-42 kernel. All is well on four of the boxes, but on the fifth the network card (eth0) will not work. I've downgraded the kernel to the previous version and the network card works fine again. I've tried removing and re-installing the new kernel, but the network card won't work with it. The details of the

opus 1.2.1 regression with --enable-float-approx and --0fast
Hi, I work on a webRTC application and recently tried updating from opus 1.1.5 to 1.2.1 Afterwards I noticed occasionally weird audio glitches. I finally tracked down the issue to the opus decoder in my application outputting samples with the value of -32768. This behaviour stopped when reverting to opus 1.1.5 or compiling opus 1.2.1 without configuring --enable-float-aprox and --0fast. The
