[PATCH net-next] virtio_net: add ethtool support for set and get of settings
From: Nikolay Aleksandrov <nikolay at cumulusnetworks.com>
This patch allows the user to set and retrieve speed and duplex of the
virtio_net device via ethtool. Having this functionality is very helpful
for simulating different environments and also enables the virtio_net
device to participate in operations where proper speed and duplex are
required (e.g. currently bonding lacp mode

[PATCH] net: get rid of SET_ETHTOOL_OPS
Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone.
This does that.
Compile tested only, but I'd seriously wonder if this broke anything.
Suggested-by: Dave Miller <davem at davemloft.net>
Signed-off-by: Wilfried Klaebe <w-lkml at lebenslange-mailadresse.de>

Applies against v3.15-rc4.

Patch supercedes previous patch...
In looking at the code I realized that the last of the HAL depenencies were
removed with this patch. So, I'm pushing an updated patch that contains
none of the HAL code in it.

[PATCH V4 net-next 0/3] vhost_net tx batching
Hi:
This series tries to implement tx batching support for vhost. This was
done by using MSG_MORE as a hint for under layer socket. The backend
(e.g tap) can then batch the packets temporarily in a list and
submit it all once the number of bacthed exceeds a limitation.
Tests shows obvious improvement on guest pktgen over over
mlx4(noqueue) on host:

[Bridge] [PATCH] net/bridge: Add 'hairpin' port forwarding mode
This patch adds a 'hairpin' (also called 'reflective relay') mode
port configuration to the Linux Ethernet bridge kernel module.
A bridge supporting hairpin forwarding mode can send frames back
out through the port the frame was received on.
Hairpin mode is required to support basic VEPA (Virtual
Ethernet Port Aggregator) capabilities.
You can find additional information on VEPA

[Bridge] [PATCHv4 net-next 0/2] Add two new flags to bridge.
The following series adds 2 new flags to bridge. One flag allows
the user to control whether mac learning is performed on the interface
or not. By default mac learning is on.
The other flag allows the user to control whether unicast traffic
is flooded (send without an fdb) to a given unicast port. Default is
on.
Changes since v4:

[PATCH net-next V5 3/3] tun: rx batching
We can only process 1 packet at one time during sendmsg(). This often
lead bad cache utilization under heavy load. So this patch tries to do
some batching during rx before submitting them to host network
stack. This is done through accepting MSG_MORE as a hint from
sendmsg() caller, if it was set, batch the packet temporarily in a
linked list and submit them all once MSG_MORE were cleared.
