My associations are coming out nil.
I''ve got a fairly simple system with a table for my Users that includes a CountryId field which looks up to the CountryId field of my Country table. What I would like to happen is for my Rails application, which contains models for both User and Country, to be able to draw the dropdown list of available countries on the edit page, like it does in all the tutorials. My model classes look

I have 2 tables: Schools { id, school_name, address_id } and Addresses { street1, street2, city, state, zip, country } *** this

Can A Model Have Many belongs_to?
I am very new to Rails. After skimming through the documentation over the last several days, I''m struggling with the appropriate use of belongs_to. My main question is whether a model can have several belongs_to declarations. I have not seen any examples online show that usage. If it can, then I would like to know if it''s poor form or what the best practices are around

plm random effect: the estimated variance of the individual effect is negative
Matteo, I fully agree with David: please read the posting guide. Anyway, the error message says it all: "the estimated variance of the individual effect is negative". See e.g. the "basic panel" chapter (10 or 11) in Wooldridge's "Econometric Analysis of XS and Panel Data" to understand why this may happen. Stata's behaviour is (as far as I remember) to
