Installing Xen 3.2 from Xen.org under CentOS 5.1 x64
What is the best procedure for doing this on a minimal install of CentOS without a gui?
Can I install all the dependencies through yum that a `#yum install xen kernel-xen xen-libs` would bring in, then simply install the xen-3.2.0-0xs.centos5.i386.rpm and xen-libs-3.2.0-0xs.centos5.i386.rpm?
Thanks!

centos5 xen domu with X: screens not found
Hi,
I am in a process to virtualize an existing non-virtualized CentOS5 system.
Everything else works fine except X: virt-manager's console just hangs
after bootup. I can use the text console though and what I see in X
server's log is the error message "screens not found".
The only graphics related setup I've done is in the domu config this line:

unexpected mass closing of terminal windows
Hello,
I apologize if this isn't quite the right spot to ask, but I did some
googling on fc6, rhel5, centos5, terminal closings, etc and came up blank.
Three times since I installed CentOS5 on this machine (11 days ago), I
have had ***all my my terminal windows spontaneously exit***.
For example: just now, I have a CD playing, firefox open with a few tabs,
and emacs open. I also had ~5

32-bit Centos 5.1 kickstart hangs on xen domU HVM installation
I am trying to a install Centos 5.1 32-bit Xen HVM DomU onto a Centos 5.1
64bit DomU with the default xen installed and the kickstart hangs at random
points during the install process. Sometimes retrieving the image, sometimes
formatting the filesystem, sometimes installing the packages, etc.
I tried upgrading to xen 3.2 and encounter the same problem before
rebuilding back to stock Centos 5.1

XEN Paravirtualized CentOS5 beta on CentOS5 beta
Dear All,
I'm trying to install CentOS5 beta as paravirtualized guest on a CentOS5
Xen host using virt-manager.
Everything seems to go OK. I'm able to run virt-manager and fill-out all
the details. Because you can only do a http/ftp/nfs install when setting
up a paravirtualized guest using virt-manager, I made the whole contents
of the CentOS5 beta DVD available via ftp.

About md5sum
Hi all,
A friend of mine gives me a copy of Centos5 DVD.
I then make an iso of it using dd if=/dev/cdrom of=centos5.iso command.
I then check it using sha1sum.
But the result is different than of listed in Centos website.
Should it the same? Or we simply cannot compare sha1sum from burned DVD to
that of 'unburned' iso file?
Thanks.

xen dom0/domU network speed
Hi all,
I have problem reaching 1Gbps network speed with dom0 / domU
(paravirtualized) on my centos5 installations.
The fastest speed I measured in domU was about 800/600
receive/transmit Mbps, dom0 being a bit slower. I'm using bridging
(eeither with default xen/centos network-bridge script or with my own
scripts assigning vlans to bridges).
Is anyone experiencing same network slowdown?

Re: install issues
Are you trying to install the 64-bit or the 32-bit?
While the install is running, some of the other virtual consoles display
logs and error information. What do those show when the install rejects your
disk?
What result did you get trying from the HTTP install?

no luck with Xen....
Perhaps someone has ideas on this topic, a recent attempt to play with Xen was a reather unlucky event, all what I will be able to demonstrate on that system is a PV ONNV domU which
ikely will not be very attractive to the audience :(

Can''t boot HVM Win2k8 R2 x64 DVD ISO (Viridian?)
Hi all,
I''m stuck with a peculiar problem. I have CentOS 5.5 and Xen. I have
numerous Windows 2003 guests and never had this problem. An application
requires SQL server 2008 which is requiring Windows Server 2008. I
downloaded the 2.8 Gig install DVD ISO. I create a new guest and
connect the ISO as hdc. The system starts and says "Starting Windows"
but hangs and no

Windows 10 tech preview build 10130
Hi Everyone,
Has anyone managed to install Windows 10 tech preview build 10130 as a
KVM on a CentOS 6 host? I'm having problems that I haven't been able to
get past.
I can get the CD to boot and the install process to begin, but Windows
keeps complaining about missing drivers. I've unsuccessfully tried the
VirtIO ISOs from the Fedora project. The images I tried were:

how to set ''extra'' parameter of xen configuration file?
Hi,all
how to set ''extra'' parameter of xen configuration file?
I found several format in this parameter, such as:
extra = "text ks=nfs:192.168.1.254:/disk1/yum/centos5/ks.xen.centos5.txt" or
extra = "headless ip=dhcp method=nfs:129.158.218.44:/mnt lang=en_US keymap=us ksdevice=eth0"
Is there a specification to show how to edit this parameter, and to
