R: one bananna aov() question
Hello world,
I'm trying to do an
anova on data in data.set, dependent variable is a column
named "dep.var", grouping variable is in a column called "indep.var", and
is.factor(indep.var) is TRUE...
why can't I just do aov(dep.var ~ indep.var, data = data.set)?
What have I done to deserve this?! What gives? Am I missing something
totlly obvious?

[LLD] Can't create dynamic relocation R_X86_64_64 against local symbol in readonly segment
Hi,
the attached example works with bfd-ld and with gold, but not with lld:

.align 16
leaq .JTab(%rip), %r10
jmp *(%r10, %rdx, 8)

NHW Project - good quality improvement & new -l14 very high compression quality setting
Hello,
I am still progressing with very high compression and I have corrected a
processing, so now very high compression (-l10 to -l13 quality settings)
has really better precision and so better quality.
I have also released a first draft of a new -l14 very high compression
quality setting.

[LLVMdev] Labels
I'm attempting to modify a parser generator to emit LLVM code instead of C.
So far the experience has been trivial, but I am now running into an error
regarding labels that I can't seem to solve.
Situation 1: A label is used immediately after a void function call (l6 in
this case):
<snip>
%tmp26 = load i32* @yybegin, align 4
%tmp27 = load i32* @yyend, align 4

NHW Project - good improvement of very high compression (-l8 to -l13 quality settings)
Hello,
Just a quick message to let you know that I have really improved very high
compression of the NHW Project
from -l8 to -l13 quality settings, and we can still save 2.5KB per .nhw
compressed file.
Actually I am new to very high compression, it is just 3 months that I am
working on it (I put on pause the NHW Project from August 2013 to February
2018 )... And I realize that very high

NHW Project - new -l13 very high compression quality setting
Hello,
I wanted to let you know that I have released a new -l13 very high
compression quality setting for the NHW Project (and we can still save
2.5KB per .nhw compressed file).
I find this -l13 quality setting very competitive (I will maybe use some of
its processing to improve -l12 setting).Compared to x265 (HEVC), I have
tested on 15 rather good quality images, and I visually prefer the

data alignment issue on ARM
Hi,
Can anyone familiar with data alignment issues on ARM give me some
advice about this bug?:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483912
The relevant code is in liboggz HEAD at:

Excuse me for this simple question.
How to convert as.data.frame to as.character?

convert a data frame to matrix - changed column name
I have a question, which very easy to solve, but I can't find a solution.
I want to convert a data frame to matrix. Here my toy example:

NHW Project - speed measurement 2 - very high compression
Hello,
If it could be of interest, here are new speed measurement for -l13 very
high compression setting.
For x265 (HEVC), I use BPG codec, and this time I use -m 0 setting which
uses the fastest encoding setting of x265.I run the .exe 10x times and I
pick the best scores.
So here are the timings at -l13 very high compression:
Encode time: x265 (BPG -m 0): 80ms NHW: 20ms
Decode time: x265

R question
I have the following question, which is elementary but I am unable to
answer.
In a for(i=10) loop, I am trying to represent the 10 1-dimensional vectors
l1, l2,... l10 by some expression that will run through these values.
ie. soppose I want to add l1 + ... + l10
I could go
x <- 0
for(i in 1:10){ x <- x+ l(i)}
This should return x to be the sum of the 10 li's for i from 1 to 10

[plyr] Question regarding ddply: use of .(as.name(varname)) and varname in ddply function
Dear R-Helpers:
I am using trying to use *ddply* to extract min and max of a particular
column in a data.frame. I am using two different forms of the function:
## var_name_to_split is a string -- something like "var1" which is the name
of a column in data.frame
ddply( df, .(as.name(var_name_to_split)), function(x) c(min(x[ , 3] , max(x[
, 3]))) ## fails with an error - case 1

The function cummax() seems to have a bug.
Hi,
The function cummax() seems to have a bug.
> x <- c(NA, 0)
> storage.mode(x) <- "integer"
> cummax(x)
[1] NA 0
The correct result of this case should be NA NA. The mistake in [
https://github.com/wch/r-source/blob/trunk/src/main/cum.c#L130-L136] may be
the reason.

corrections for R-intro.texi (PR#7192)
Hello,
Here are some patches for R-intro.texi, to correct various typos,
missing words, and minor inconsistencies in formatting.
Each patch is preceeded by its corresponding 'wdiff' output to make it
easier to see which words have changed.

[LLVMdev] Cygwin llvm-gcc build error
Now I believe that I am getting the same error as I was getting last time I
tried to build llvm-gcc.
It may possibly be my Cygwin instillation but am not sure.
