Rusty, Anthony, Dor,

[PATCH 0/6] virtio: virtqueue ops cleanup
virtqueue ops were introduced in the hope that we'll

but none have surfaced so far, and given that
existing virtio ring is deployed in production
we are likely stuck with it now, so this layer just
adds complexity and overhead.

[RFC][PATCH] direct-io: btrfs: avoid splitting dio requests for non-btrfs filesystems
Hi,
this is about an issue newer kernels show, bysplitting direct I/O requests
into 4k pieces to directly merge them in the Block Device Layer afterwards.
If anyone is interested in own tests just use a simple command like
dd if=/mnt/test/test-dd1 of=/dev/null iflag=direct bs=64k count=1
in combination with blktrace.
The following patch is more a proposal for discussion than a solution, well

Potential hang in virtnet_send_command
Hi,
I was debugging an issue caused by a bad usage of dpdk.
That is fixed in the meantime and I'll backport that into our code as well.
But along debugging that, I found a potential hang in virtnet_send_command
that my case ran into.
The following code can become an infinite loop:
/* Spin for a response, the kick causes an ioport write, trapping
* into the hypervisor, so the request should

[PATCH 1/2] virtio: Add a can_add_buf helper
This helper returns 1 if a call to add_buf will not fail
with -ENOSPC.
This will help callers that do
while(1) {
alloc()
if (add_buf()) {
free();
break;
}
}
This will result in one less alloc/free exercise.

Deleting NFS-mounted Maildir subfolders fails
Hi,
[ please CC me on replies, I'm not subscribed to the list ]
I'm using dovecot-99.9.1 with a little hack to get authentication to
work the way we want it. The server is running on a Solaris 9 host
and user homes are mounted via NFS from a Solaris 8 server (Version doesn't
seem to matter).
Almost everything's fine but I can't delete maildir subfolders if these
