Darwin notes for openssh-3.7.1p1
I was able to build working openssh-3.7.1p1 on the Darwin-ppc-1.4 , 5.5, and 6.0 platform, by
setting the following by hand in config.h.
#define SETEUID_BREAKS_SETUID
#define BROKEN_SETREUID
#define HAVE_SETEUID 1
/* #undef HAVE_SETREUID 1 */
For Darwin-x86-6.6.1, it built with the following.
#define SETEUID_BREAKS_SETUID
/* #undef BROKEN_SETREUID */

I've been taking an informal survey on this for awhile now.
I know the new, official acronym is Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).
But even before that acronym was popular, I had long argued that
Stallman's insistence on calling it "Free Software" when that could
be confused with

I have been checking the metafor package against R-devel.

Hi,
We are students of Lund University doing our Bachelor thesis for the Systems
Design-programme.
Some of you may already have seen this message. It's not easy to get in
touch with you guys. [image: Wink]
This was also posted on the compiz forums. It's a bit difficult navigating

Using Asterisk + other FOSS projects to facilitate a call-in Internet Radio web-frontend
Good Evening,
I'm setting up an Internet Radio website with call-in functionality,
and need to know the kinds of FOSS tools I should install to get the
job done.
Here's an example of what I'm looking for: http://i56.tinypic.com/aafz4k.png

LibreCAD FOSS
Hey Y,all
I seem to remember someone on this list looking for CAD software. I
thought I should send this along just in case I'm right and someone
remembers who it was that was looking.

FOSS Inventory Managment and Invoicing Application
I am trying to help a small shop migrate off an old DOS sales application and
was hoping to find a Linux alternative. Anyone have any experience with these
types of applications, it would likely be a 2-3 user setup.
Thanks!

Lattice: merged strips?
Hi all,
By default a call to xyplot from the Lattice package when using 2
factors [eg xyplot( dv~iv | XY * AB ) ] yields the following shingle
structure:
|_A_|_A_|_B_|_B_|
|_X_|_Y_|_X_|_Y_|
However, I'm wondering if it is possible to merge the upper shingle
within levels of that factor, as in:
|___A___|___B___|
|_X_|_Y_|_X_|_Y_|

Power calculation with measurement error
Hi all,
Hopefully this will be quick, I'm looking for pointers to packages/
functions that would allow me to calculate the power of a t.test when
the DV has measurement error. That is, I understand that, ceteris
paribus, experiments using measure with more error (lower
reliability) will have lower power.

Quick plotmath question
Hi all,
Worked & looked around for a while on this to no avail. I'm trying to
create a plotmath expression that achieves:
?i >> 0
and while:
expression(Delta*i>0)
comes close, I'd prefer to have the >> (denoting "very much greater
than"). Maybe >> is a non-standard expression and therefore not
supported?

Create correlated data with skew
Hi all,
I understand that it is simple to create data with a specific
correlation (say, .5) using mvrnorm from the MASS library:
> library(MASS)
> set.seed(1)
>
> a=mvrnorm(
+ n=10
+ ,mu=rep(0,2)
+ ,Sigma=matrix(c(1,.5,.5,1),2,2)
+ ,empirical=T
+ )
