User defined grid on map
This may be a trivial question for some of you: Is there a way to add
defined grid sizes on specific areas of a map?. I want to add 10kmx10km
grids to all California coastal counties:
"california,alameda", "california,contra costa", "california,del norte",
"california,humboldt", "california,los angeles", "california,marin",

Penche Winery, Napa: Recent Releases
As you might imagine, I get sent a lot of Cabernet from Napa. At first I eagerly anticipated the arrival of every new label that I had never heard of, but over the years, I've become a bit jaded, as so many fail to rise above reasonably competent, over-oaked expressions of the grape. These days it's a lot harder to turn my head with a new Napa Cab, but when they arrived, two dark bottles

please suggest a web page automation tool
I''ve been trying to get a couple of web automation tools going today
and having a hard time. Seems like everything I try is outdated and
won''t run on my environment. Mechanize seemed like a good one but it
doesn''t want to run:
require ''rubygems''
require ''open-uri''
require ''mechanize''
agent = Mechanize.new

Hello list
The Samba Howto Collection repeatedly asserts that by setting the sticky
bit on directories any files created in those directories will be created
with the owner set to that of the directory (for example, see
http://samba.mirror.ac.uk/samba/docs/man/howto/AccessControls.html#id2541262).
This has never worked for me. Files created inherit the group of the
directory, but not the owner.

Does Ruby 1.9 support Unicode normalization yet?
In the process of upgrading from 1.8 to 1.9 we are getting a lot of
warnings about "Ruby 1.9 doesn''t support Unicode normalization yet".
However the commit that added those lines is from 2008 and just
mentions "Ruby 1.9 compat: no Unicode normalization support yet"
without any references. Does anyone know whether this is still true
for ruby 1.9 and for which minor

Error indexing mbox file /var/mail/seb: LF not found where expected
Howdy all,
Dec 19 14:24:53 dev imap(seb): Error indexing mbox file /var/mail/seb:

I just installed version dovecot-0.99.12.1 for the first time on
FreeBSD 4.10 stable. This error occurs when I try to check my mail
from a remote client and I have new messages. Here is my
configuration:

[PATCH] virtio: remove explicit pci ids from virtio_pci.c
Qumranet let us use their PCI vendor ID, with device ids >= 0x1000.
We can specify that we accept all of them in the device ID table, and
then return -ENODEV in the probe routine.
modprobe will load all the modules which match a given alias so we
might be loaded when we're not needed, but that's the worst that can
happen.
