Mongrel 0.3.13.3 -- Ruby Licensed Release
Hello Everyone, This is the official 0.3.13.3 release of Mongrel. Mongrel is now released under the *Ruby license* instead of the LGPL. I''m hoping this increases the adoption of Mongrel even further and hopefully I can start pushing to get Mongrel included in Ruby directly. INSTALL As usual, you install it with your friendly gem install method of choice: gem install mongrel Or

How about a mascot for R?
R users, How come R doesn't have a mascot? Linux has one and so does LaTeX, so shouldn't R? I personally think that associating a "friendly face" with R would be a good thing for R (one letter names can be quite intimidating). I apologize if this is addressed in the FAQ. I searched the FAQ as well as the mailing list archives and checked ?mascot but to no avail. ;-)

Hmisc, Design, summary.Design plot- changing confidence intervals, adding color or decreasing font size
Hi, 1. I want 95% not 99% confidence intervals in my summary.Design plot using the Design package. Putting conf.int=.95 as an argument in plot does not work. The default appears to be .99 not .95 as stated in the package Design manual (p. 164). 2. My sweave chuck is below and my output is attached as well as linked here: http://www.sonoma.edu/users/s/stanny/330A/project/ciplot.pdf 3.

How to move /var to another partition
Hello, I am getting low on space in my /(root) partition. I have 23GB free. I have 350GB in my /home partition. I am the only user. I was experimenting with virtualization and it causes the root partition to get very low. I would like to move /var from the root partition, to the same partition as /home, if that's safe to do. Or, resize /home and add another partition for /var I also

Bind Module
Anyone know where I can find a good chrooted named module for centos? Named as chroot is ugly... soft and hard links everywhere... Validate a theory regarding puppet (+ firstboot) please
As I sit here staring at my manifests (and pondering a module to control Glassfish), I''m pondering the best way to do a first-run of puppet to get the initial repositories and puppet configuration downloaded. My theory is that I''ll modify rc.local (or replace firstboot-tui, we don''t use it with automated builds) to run puppetd twice - once to request the certificate,

Install Package only if a certain file exists.
So I can''t quite see how to do this in the existing syntax. Ideally there would be an onlyif parameter for packages, but that doesn''t seem to be the case. I could create a fact that returns true or false depending on whether the file exists, but that doesn''t feel like the right way to do it either. I could do something like: $file_exists =

[LLVMdev] LLVM Logo
Hi All, I'm happy to announce that Apple has agreed to let llvm.org (and anyone else) use the great LLVM logo they designed for WWDC. If you're interested, you can see the full version of the logo on this page: http://llvm.org/Logo.html I personally think that this is a pretty great logo/mascot for LLVM, because it is very abstract, can be adapted in a variety of ways, is

Committing with git
> At the dev meeting I heard Doug Gregor say something like, "what kind of dirty animals are you, you just push directly to master!?" Based on that, I think other communities may set up workflows where they push branches to places, and some automation rebases and updates master asynchronously, optionally conditioned on some (light) testing or approval. Someone has already mentioned

User defined grid on map
This may be a trivial question for some of you: Is there a way to add defined grid sizes on specific areas of a map?. I want to add 10kmx10km grids to all California coastal counties: "california, alameda", "california, contra costa", "california, del norte", "california, humboldt", "california, los angeles", "california, marin",
