Will the R Project be a Mentoring Organization for GSOC 2025?
Please see the GSoC schedule - for 2025 the organisation applications won't close until February 12 so we may not know the answer until possibly sometime in March (that's assuming there are proposed projects). [GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
All, The LLVM project has had many years of success with the Google Summer of Code project and we would really like to continue our participation. However, without the support of more community members, we fear that we may not be selected as an organization this year. They are already reviewing projects and to improve our chances of participation we need more projects and mentors listed on the

[GSOC 2019] project ideas from 2018
Hi everyone, Last year I found about GSoC and llvm bit to late to apply. I noticed that "Improve function attribute inference" project idea was not taken. Does anyone know if someone has worked on it in the meantime? If not, is someone interested in mentoring? Nuno Lopes or someone else? Thanks and regards, Stefan. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

[GSOC 2018] Project covering LLVM and GPU
All, This year I am very interested in participating in the Google Summer of Code with a LLVM project. The main reason is that I am starting a Bachelor's Thesis about compilers that will target directly LLVM. (Note that I would like to continue beyond Bachelor) The project that me and my advisor have chosen is about compiler optimizations for GPGPU. Although I have seen some proposals for

[cfe-dev] [GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
Hi Tanya, Is it too late to get some smaller projects for XRay in there? Here's two: XRay Function Coverage Mode: Implementing an XRay mode to gather function call coverage information. This will be useful in determining which functions in an application has been called either on-demand or throughout its lifetime. XRay Converters: Implementing conversion tools for XRay traces into

[GSoC] Mentor qualification guidelines
Hi all, I have a question related to GSoC. One of my students submitted an idea [1] for a GSoC project and I would be interested in (co-)mentoring this project but I'm unsure of the qualification requirements for acting as a mentor. Is there anyone that can clarify the requirements here? I have been working with LLVM for several years now but mostly on projects outside of the main LLVM

[cfe-dev] [GSOC 2018] Mentors and projects needed! Any help appreciated.
Hi Anton, Forgive me for the potentially dumb question -- but how do I do that myself? The monorepo doesn't contain the website source(s) and it's unclear how I can do that myself... I'd love to do it myself but I'm a little lost on how to do it. Help? On Tue, Feb 20, 2018 at 9:18 PM Anton Korobeynikov <anton at korobeynikov.info> wrote: > Dean, > > Please add

More information on GSoC project
hello everybody, I would like to participate in GSoC 2008 program under xiph.org. I went through the open project list[1] and found the project " Theora encoding support in GIMP" proposal interesting. I'd really grateful to you if you can give me more information on this, including 1. Why GIMP need encoding support? 2.If you have any guidance in integrating encoding support for GIMP

GSoC 2015 - Weighting Schemes
Hello everyone! I'm Ayush Tomar, junior undergrad in Computer Science from New Delhi, India. I love C++ coding and working on machine learning and information retrieval project. I was exploring the GSoC ideas for Xapian and the project on "Adding Weighting Schemes" looked really interesting to me. I wanted to work on text mining/IR this summer and this idea seems perfect! I have

GSoC project to deal with bootloaders
Hi Matt, I was discussing with Rich on #libguestfs about using the supermin appliance to 'package' all the 3 outputs (kernel, initrd, root) the fedora appliance [1] into a raw/qcow2 image. He then suggested, it's not easy, but do-able: - put the kernel and initrd onto the root disk, and then install a bootloader; - and then installing 'syslinux' on disk images And said

GSoc Project Idea Weighting Schemes (Ranking)
Hi, I am Abhishek Currently Xapian::Weight follows BM25 scheme, many models such as the Divergence from Randomness (DfR) family of models, Unigram Language Model and the Bi-gram Language Model implemented two years ago in GSoc 2012 yet not merged to the master. The new weighing schemes or improvement in implementing the previous models to change the default scheme of BM25 from SMART with

Hello,GSoc mentors.
Hello, GSoc mentors. Last time we discussed the IRC interview. Has the time been determined yet? It seems not so many days left before the deadline of submission. By the way, I'm banned from the IRC because I am a tor user. But we can't login IRC without using tor because IRC is screened by the firewall.

GSOC 2016 project on Ranking
Hello Sir, I am a third-year student at the Department of mathematics at IIT Kharagpur. I have good experience in Information Retrieval and Machine Learning. I have read many chapters of the book Introduction to Information Retrieval. Recently I am doing a project on tagging a question on a Q&A Forum using ranking the tags and probabilistic inference. I also have software development

[GSoC 2017] Project proposal queries
Thank you very much for your replies. I tinker frequently with embedded systems and was hoping I could contribute to an `-Os` flag for LLVM or alternately, improving code generation in the experimental AVR backend if there is a willing mentor. As for encoding analysis results in MachineInstr IR, it's a feature I too sorely need in the project I'm working on. Would it be helpful to
