RBAC on Rails?
yo,
has anyone done a good RBAC implementation for rails?
I see lotsa mini-tutorial-suggestions, but not... ActionRBAC! :)
any pointers helpful - if nothing exists I think I''ll duplicate the
RBAC implementation we did for binarycloud (binarycloud.com) and give
it to the community.
thanks for any help,

Adding ''author'' functionality to UserEngine / RBAC roles
I''m trying to add / extend the default UserEngine schema
(Guest/User/Admin) to support author only Update/Delete functions. At
the moment, I allow ''Guest'' to read/view all records, and User
additionaly has access to create/edit/destroy, however this means that
any registered user is able to modify any record.
My first thought was to add another filter in the chain

New RBAC Plug-In for Rails
Hi,
I just finished writing this plug-in. I''ve been using rails for awhile
but this is my first time extracting some code and writing it as a
plug-in and I''d love to hear to some feedback. Thanks.

[OT][Practices] The Case for RBAC/MAC

1.1~pre17 is no longer available for OSX from Homebrew.
Hey Folks,
It seems that Homebrew for some reason arbitrarily decided to banish all
of the --devel flavors from all of their installable packages. I
couldn't find any discussion as to why or what they intend to replace
the function with.
**update; this is where they decided to do this;

But in the meantime, 1.1pre17 is

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.6 homebrew core formula
Dear LLVMers,
I am working on a project that depends on LLVM 3.6. For Homebrew, the core formula is pointing to LLVM 3.5.1 and LLVM 3.6 is only available as a homebrew tap. Since no core formula can depend in versioned taps, would it be possible to get the llvm36 (since already released) formula into homebrew core and replace the 3.5.1 formula?
Thank you very much,
Sebastian

running R from Notepad++ in Windows 7
hi Andrew
Many thanks for the suggestion.
I gave it a try , but still get the same issue -
a fresh Rgui window (just one) opens, with an empty .RData, when
I submit a script ( Ctrl & F8 ).
I also tried running things as administrator, but it made no difference.
Apparently windows 7 is selling like hot buns, so there should be
enough market pressure before too long , to encourage the

NSD 4.10.0 compile failure in Homebrew
Hi NSD developers,
I submitted a merge request in Homebrew to update NSD to 4.10.0. The
compile failed, and I don't know what the error means and how to fix it.
Could one of you please take a look?

You can get it from https://github.com/jedi4ever/puppet-homebrew
enjoy :)
Patrick
P.S. You need a newer version of puppet as it uses the new module structure

security = problems
Is there a way to have users of the samba server, but not add them by
smbpasswd -a <UserID>?
I want the samba server to be a domain member and the users to only

Users are in both the Windows domain and the UNIX NIS account

small pbx for the office [it was: small homebrew pbx]
I think you are mixing up answers and general advice. FreePBX was intended to get you over the dialplan creation hurdle (the biggest challenge for people new to Asterisk).
In regards to the LinkSys they are compatible and you do find them in enterprises, but admins are trying to get rid of adapters/converters so if possible you may wish to invest in SIP devices directly instead of an adapter.

Installing on Mojave, with Homebrew and mysql
I?m using Homebrew to install Dovecot on Mojave, but have to modify the formula to add ?--with-mysql?.
Unfortunately compiling always fails with:
checking for mysql_config... NO
checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... no
configure: error: Can't build with MySQL support: libmysqlclient not found
I added:
ENV['LD']="-L/usr/local/opt/mysql at 5.7/lib"
