Possible bug in direct.evidence.plot?
The explanation is likely that class(x) returns a character vector of
length > 1.
If you go into the code you can achieve what is probably intended without
triggering this error by replacing that statement with the following:
if (inherits(x,"netmeta")) ...

Possible bug in direct.evidence.plot?
This is as I expected. My suggested fix will work in this case.

Network meta-analysis help
Greetings. I hope my message finds you well.
I know this question may be silly for some experts like you but it's a very important matter for me so, sorry for that.
I was trying to make a network meta-analysis using R for the attached data set which shows the association between breast feeding and autism spectrum disorder (the event here is bad).
I've searched a lot through the internet

Change Rcode for a meta-analysis(netmeta) to use a random effects model instead of a mixed effects model
The code in your mail in a mangled mess, since you posted in HTML. Please configure your email client to send emails in plain text.
Could you explain what exactly you mean by "Currently it is using a mixed effects model. Is it possible to change the code so a random effects model is used?"
Best,
Wolfgang

Network meta-analysis help
Hi Sherief,
First thing is your data set did not make it If it is not too large,
perhaps you could send the output of "dput" in the body of the message
or send a CSV file with the extension changed to ".txt". If the data
set is very large, perhaps you could send a subset as described above.

Change Rcode for a meta-analysis(netmeta) to use a random effects model instead of a mixed effects model
Hello,
I am writing a meta-analysis on the complication and reoperation rates after 5 treatment modalities of a distal radius fracture. I have a code to compare the complication and reoperation rates. Currently it is using a mixed effects model. Is it possible to change the code so a random effects model is used?
Thank you very much,
Jay

Since harmonics are often accompanied by a temperature rise, thermography can be used to detect evidence of their presence.

Credit Scoring in R - Weight of Evidence
Dear List,
I couldn't find any package that performs the "weight of evidence" of
predictors (a transformation usually performed in credit scoring
applications). Is there any that you know?
Thanks,
Axel.

Re: Can't run Evidence Scribe
Hi, I'm the Evidence Scribe developer. I've actually corresponded with the original poster about this and worked things out (I'm building a version specifically for Linux). moosehadly can verify that this problem has been solved if you need him to.
Could a moderator delete this thread? The topic is "Can't run..." and it is showing up in Google results looking like

Evidence Theory in R
Hello,
well, I searched list-archive, cran and the references, but found
nothing. Thus:
Does anybody around here know anything about Dempster-Shafer Theory,
Evidence Theory or Hints in R? Has anybody stumbled about a package that
I overlooked or implemented something in this area? I really would like
to not implement a hint-model a second time.
My apologies if I missed something obvious, but I

what is R best for? Evidence please.
Discussion about R capabilities seem to suggest that for optimization
one may want to use some other software. As I've been working (with Ravi
Varadhan mainly) to try to improve what is now called optim(), I needed
to test some new methods, including a variant of CG. Coding only in R on
a pretty vanilla 3Ghz PC, I was surprised that a generalized Rosenbrock

Evidence from Debian's package tracking (Was Re: Size of R user base.)
I have watched the discussions about the size of the R user base with
much interest. One more source of data that might help is the
voluntary data capture in Debian. If you are a Debian user, you should
volunteer information. It's very easy: as root, say:
# apt-get install popularity-contest
The results are found at:

comparing strength of association instead of strength of evidence?
Hi,
I asked this question before, which was hidden in a bunch of
questions. I repharse it here and hope I can get some help this time:
I have 2 contingency tables which have the same group variable Y. I
want to compare the strength of association between X1/Y and X2/Y. I
am not sure if comparing p-values IS the way even though the

evidence/timelines that show linux is "more secure"
I''m looking for some evidence, backup up with dates and references,
that shows that the Linux community responds to security problems
more quickly than other OS vendors, and thus might be considered
"more secure". A number of fairly high profile corporations are
starting to look for such information as they consider Linux as an
alternative solution to other UNIXes.

Lack of physical memory evidences
In pre-ZFS era, we had observable parameters like scan rate and anonymous page-in/-out counters to discover situations when a system experiences a lack of physical memory. With ZFS, it''s difficult to use mentioned parameters to figure out situations like that. Has someone any idea what we can use for the same purpose now ?
Thanks in advance,
