I need glibc 2.19+ for 32 bit CentOS 6.8 or CentOS7
Hello all-- Due to a proposed changeover to build machines for a project I'm involved with, I need at least glib 2.19. Right now I have glib 2.12, and even on CentOS7-32 bit, what I see is glib 2.14. Is a higher glib available anywhere that might work with my current 6.8. I see I can download it from SourceForge but I am wondering what the results might me. I really like CentOS and would

locking problems with RHEL 3 and dovecot
I just migrated from a FreeBSD/Sendmail/UW-IMAP setup to RHEL 3/Postfix/Dovecot (1.0a5 currently). Both systems used Procmail as the final delivery agent (into inboxes or . Since the changeover, things have *mostly* been going ok, but I've been having some problems that I think are locking-related. I'm getting reports from users about IMAP hangs (mostly from Thunderbird). Sometimes I see

jitter buffer
jitter varioues from application to application and network to network. let me give you an instance from my own work. i am using speex in a voip application that has to work on gprs connection. the gprs gives just 9.6 kpbs up. hence, i have an upper limit of 6kpbs on the codec and not more than 5 udp packets per sec. that means, putting in 10 speex frames in every rtp packet. i need to jitter

Samba won't act as PDC
I have been tasked to be one of the main targets, er, I mean, guys to facilitate our changeover from a rather aged Novell server to Samba. My boss set up Samba 2.0.7 (RPM shows "samba-common-2.0.7-4" with an RPM -q). I am trying to convert it to PDC functionality, and am having difficulty. In the log I see this: "smbd/password.c:authorise_login(826) rejected invalid user

dbus support in dovecot?
Greetings; I am trying to transition from ubu10.04.4 LTS to ubu12.04.2 LTS, but in the changeover I want to setup dovecot as a local only imap server so that I can read & respond to email from any of the other 4 or so machines on my local net. To that end, and given that I have a well working setup right now, using fetchmail driving mailfilter as a pre-check, procmail as the MTA

bi monthly based Mail/News backup scheme
I'm looking for a way to accomplish this goal without too much regular intervention. I want to backup.. but no thats not really the word I need here. It is a backup but also a continuing non-deleting collection of what comes on the spools over time. So the backup will never look like or mirror the src, except on the first run. It is NNTP and Mail spools (in one numbered file per message

Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file (dovecot 1.0-0.beta8.2.fc5)
Hello, I have upgraded my dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3 to dovecot-1.0-0.beta8.2.fc5 recently and now am having weird problem. If somebody's mailbox has the first line in a form of From "User Name" <user at host.domain.edu> Thu Oct 7 14:20:00 1999 instead of From user at host.domain.edu Thu Oct 7 14:20:00 1999 then that mailbox couldn't be precessed by dovecot. Weird XP synchronisation issue. Using old cached IP?
First, a little background: I successfully migrated the samba PDC funtionality from an old Suse machine to a new debian-based one. The old machine was named PHOENIX and had an ip address of 10.10.10.4. The new one has the same name but is on 10.10.10.14. Everything is working just fine with this new domain (authentication, adding users, computers, printing etc), except for one laptop. Since the

IPV4 is nearly depleted, are you ready for IPV6?
Seeing as IPV4 is near it's end of life (http://www.internetnews.com/infra/article.php/3915471/IPv4+Nearing+Final+Days.htm), I'm curios as who know whether everyone is ready for the changeover to IPV6? Is anyone using it in production already, and what are your experiences with it? -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers SoftDux Website: http://www.SoftDux.com Technical Blog:

deleting folders containing subfolders with thunderbird (mbox format) bug
When using Thunderbird (dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3) on Fedora connecting to dovecot-0.99.13-3.FC3 I am having problems deleting folders which have been created with the 'Allow your new folder to contain: Folders only' option picked. The folder appears to get deleted but upon restarting Thunderbird the folder still appears to be there but clicking on it I get the error: 'The current

mbox separators ignored
Using dovecot-0.99.13-4.FC2 I grabbed a bunch of Mailman archive files from the Weather mailing list here: <http://www.buoy.com/pipermail/weather/> I gunzipped the older ones, then concatenated them all in correct order to create one big mbox file. I dropped it into my ~/mail folder and started my IMAP client (Mulberry) and opened the new Weather folder. It shows one gargantuan

Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file
Getting "Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file" on 1.2rc2 after transferring mail from an ancient 0.99.13 system. The first line of the file looks ok. Curiously, it's one of my archival folders of this list. Here's the first header from the top of the file: >From tss at iki.fi Sat May 1 21:48:17 2004 From: tss at iki.fi (Timo Sirainen) Date: Sat May 1 21:54:18 2004

Question about mail storage
I am in the throes of trying to understand all the issues of transforming an old UW Imap server with mbox (I think) INBOX format running sendmail and procmail serving 3500 users to dovecot and maildir format. Currently, the folders are under ~/mail and the INBOXes are under /var/spool/mail. If I understand correctly, the typical default Dovecot/maildir format installation will have both the INBOX

automatic forced zpool import with unmatched hostid
Hi, since hostid is stored in the label, "zpool import" failed if the hostid dind''t match. Under certain circonstances (ldom failover) it means you have to manually force the zpool import while booting. With more than 80 LDOMs on a single host it will be great if we could configure the machine back to the old behavior where it didn''t failed, maybe with a /etc/sytem
