Keeping \Seen flag private
Hi all, I wanna to set up shared folders for a couple of users and I'd like that everyone could keep the \Seen flag as private. So if user #1 reads some messages and user #2 not, those messages appear as "unseen" to #2 and "seen" to #1. I've implemented shared folders using namespaces with every user having their own "control" and "private"

Per-user flags for shared folders
As I see in 2.0 there willn't be ability to control which flags should be shared, and which should be per-user. But may be there is some plans to implement settings to control that? It'll be great if you can write in dovecot-shared file which flags should be per-user. It's very usefull for group mailboxes, when each user should work with such mailbox like with their own. Now I

no bookeeping using public folders
Using dovecot 1.0.10. In the config: namespace public { separator = / hidden = no prefix = Flock/ location = maildir:/home/baratin/PublicMaildir:CONTROL=~/Maildir/control/Flock:INDEX=/var/dovecot/index/%u/Flock } This should be a public mail folder owned by "baratin", "read only" for all other users. Every user has his/her own control and index area

How to make dovecot-lda/deliver mark a message as seen
Hello everybody, I am using dovecot 2.0.13 and have a special case here in which I want a mail that is delivered locally with dovecot-lda to be marked as "seen". In dovecot 1.1.7 I succeeded to achive this, by modifing deliver.c so that upon adding a -S switch to the command arguments, the flag MAIL_SEEN was added to the call of mailbox_copy(). This seemed to work pretty good.

Per-user "Seen" flags with shared namespace stored as maildir?
Hi all, I was wondering if the above was possible. I know that the "seen" flag is stored in the filename, but was wondering if anyone knew of a way to separate it out? I know this would strictly-speaking break maildir compatibility, but it would be extremely useful for shared folders. I've been given the task of replacing the (extremely heavily used) shared folders functionality

Problems with seen flag on OS X mail
I'm having a problem with dovecot and apple mail not always remembering the seen flag. Some cases when mail is read it stays that way but other times it reverts back to unread on the next connection. I've tried to rebuild the Apple Mail mailbox but that doesn't do it. The mail is stored in Maildir format in the users home directory. All the connections Apple Mail are done

Seen flag in maildir filename not being respected
Hi, I'm using dovecot 1.1.2 (but I've noticed this since 1.1.1 which I was using until yesterday). It seems dovecot is ignoring the "S" flag in Maildir filenames, and is relying only in its Index Files to determine if a message has been read or not. I say that because if I delete the dovecot.index.* files for a mail folder, all the mails in there appear as unread. Also,

Dovecot 2.2.14 and per user \Seen flags
Hello, I have a Dovecot Installation Version 2.2.14 on CentOS 6.5 with shared folder. UserA shares his INBOX to user UserB. I activated "per user \Seen flags" with location = maildir:%%h/Maildir:INDEX=%h/shared/%%u:CONTROL=%h/shared/%%u:INDEXPVT=%h/shared I think the INDEXPVT setting activates this setting, right? I activated this setting when there were already several accounts in

Handling of X-Status flags
Hi all, I've done a bit of searching and haven't seen anybody else coming across this problem yet: I noticed that Dovecot uses the opposite flags for marking messages as deleted and draft to most other MUAs I've seen or used: With PINE, mutt and uw-imapd at least, messages are marked with X-Status 'D' for Deleted, and 'T' for drafT. Dovecot reverses this behaviour,

local seen flags with shared mailboxes
Hello all, after recent upgrade from 2.0.5 to 2.0.8 it seems that local seen flags for mails reside in shared mailboxes doesn?t work anymore. Before the upgrade I had read mails with account #1. Account #2 (who has access via acl) saw the mails still as unread. Now, no matter who read the mails, the other account see the same flags, immediately. I read the related wiki pages again and tried to

How to manage Seen flags via sieve?
I use public namespace for group mailboxes. If someone sends email from this mailbox , MTA detects it and delivers copy of that message to mailbox/Sent folder, to keep history of all messages available for every group member. I'd like to set Seen flag on all messages that dovecots deliver puts into "Sent" folder. Is it posible somehow?
