maildir and the separator for subfolder
hi, I use dovecot 1.0rc15 with one maildir namespace. I'd like to be able to use '.' in folders and subfolders name. So, I setup the default namespace with separator =':' But, when I create some folders and then subfolders with thunderbird the filename one the server are named with some '.' no ':'... It seems that dovecot always interprets '.'

count pixels of same color in pixmap object?
Dear all, I try to figure out how to use R to count the number of pixels of the same color in some gray-level picture. I managed to read it in either tiff or jpeg format, but the returned pixmap object keeps its information out of (my) reach. Is there an easy way to tabulate the different color/graylevel pixels and their numbers? Or should I use a completely different (free) software?

Accessing plain text password from memory
Is there a way to retrieve the client's password in plain text from memory ? I don't store the password in plain text in my postgreSQL but I need it when the client is connected to make crypto computation. If I write a plugin to do the job, how could I retrieve the plain text password from master ? Thank you for your help, Regards, Stan.

matrix of eigenvalues
I thought that the function eigen(A) will return a matrix with eigenvectors that are independent of each other (thus forming a base and the matrix being invertible). This seems not to be the case in the following example A=matrix(c(1,2,0,1),nrow=2,byrow=T) eigen(A) ->ev solve(ev$vectors) note that I try to get the upper triangular form with eigenvalues on the diagonal and (possibly) 1 just

Hello, I'm trying to load the mail-filter plugin (dovecot-2.2.9) with the following option in 10-mail.conf : mail_plugins = $mail_plugins mail_filter But I've got the following error when restarting dovecot : dovecot: imap: Fatal: Plugin 'mail_filter' not found from directory /usr/local/lib/dovecot I reinstalled dovecot-2.2.9 from sources (freeBSD ports) but it did not install

LMTP, TLS/SSL, authentication, proxy
Hello, unfortunatly, TLS doesn't seem to work on LMTP, anyway, not by simply put ssl=yet to the lmtp inet_listener. I've tried and when I *openssl s_client -connect* to the lmtp listener I've got the following response : CONNECTED(00000003) 34379118248:error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown

dsync: assert panic on mbox // no INBOX sync on hybrid mbox/maildir
Hi, replying to my own issue: The dsync crash seems to be triggered when there are emails to copy in both directions, and it's fairly clear from comments in the code that it should be releasing a read lock before trying to grab a write lock. A work-around for the crash was doing a one-way sync manually. This allowed the process to complete and my setup is now replicating properly. I guess

File isn't in mbox format - Couldn't open INBOX
I cannot reproduce this error everytime, but it seems to happen when Outlook tries to delete the first message (the first message in the file, message on top) in the /var/mail/user file. I tried looking through the mailing list but came up blank. Is this a known problem? I can fix this problem by editing the file manually and fixing the file. If I delete the first 2 lines (in the example below)

File isn't in mbox format - Couldn't open INBOX
While I saw another thread on the list similar to the issue I was experiencing (http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2005-February/006168.html), I was wondering if there was a way around this problem (the thread simply suggested upgrading, but are the later version (specifically the 1.0-test releases) ready for prime time?)... We're periodically having this with some users (not sure what

INBOX as either mbox or Maildir
In Dovecot 0.99, I recall somewhere I read it was possible for INBOX to be both a Maildir and an mbox in the same configuration (either automatically detected, or depending on the existence in a different location). Perhaps I was wrong, I'm not sure. Any way, I now became interested in this sort of setup: Most users have their spool an mbox in /var/mail/<username>, and then they

INBOX as Maildir and folders as mbox
Hi, I was wondering whether anybody has managed to get Dovecot 1.0 to store INBOX as Maildir and folders as mbox. I've tried something like default_mail_env = mbox:/folders/user/mail:INBOX=maildir:/inboxes/maildir/user:INDEX=/indexes/user but it doesn't seem to work (treats INBOX as mbox). I'm hoping to move some INBOXes from mbox on local disk to Maildir on nicely-mirrored NetApp

INBOX as mbox, other mailboxes as maildir
All, I'm trying to teach dovecot to use the mbox format for /var/mail/%u and maildir for /home/%u/Mail/ but I'm having quite a hard time. This is Dovecot v1.0.beta3 under OpenBSD 3.9 on sparc64. I've been fiddling with default_mail_env and also tried separate namespaces, but all to no avail. Here's some of the things I tried : default_mail_env =

Having a problem with mbox/inbox
Hi, I've just installed dovecot on a RHEL 4 server. I'm using postfix as my MTA. Everything seems to work well when I have a home dir for the user, but I don't like to clutter up my /home/ dir with dirs for users that will never use them (other than mail). Is there no way to just use /var/mail/user (I think in mbox format?). I have no interest at this time of using IMAP, this is

Dsync ignores INBOX when converting from mbox to maildir
Hi, I am trying to convert email box in mbox format to maildir++. It converts all folders except INBOX. For example: dsync -D -v -f -u 'info at example.org' mirror 'maildir:~/Maildir' prints: dsync(info at example.org): Info: Sport: only in source So it converts Sport folder, but INBOX folder is ignored. dovecot.conf contains: mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u

dsync inbox conversion problem (mbox -> mdbox)
Hi, We are trying to convert all mbox mail on our systems to mdbox using dsync, in order to be able to use email sub-folders in Thunderbird. Everything works fine for non-inbox folders, however the inbox folders are not getting converted. We used: *dsync -v convert mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u* *dovecot --version* 2.0.beta6 (3156315704ef) (shipping with RHEL6/SL6) *dovecot -n* #
