Dovecot deliver agent - dovecot.conf permissions
I started playing with deliver, and saw a permission error in the logs for dovecot.conf. Under my distro install, /etc/dovecot.conf was installed owner/group root, with only user rw rights. I added "other" read privileges and deliver is happy - is this necessary? -- Daniel

Dovecot deliver logging problem and procmail
Hello! Currently I'm trying to integrate dovecot's deliver program into procmail. So basically I'd write a patch for procmail to deliver not directly into the mbox file but delivering with the dovecot deliver program. Do you think this is a good concept? For testing I use the commands discussed below. Currently I'm having a problem that deliver doesn't recognize the

mbox file too large error with deliver
Hi, I am using dovecot on debian, with version 1.0.rc15-2etch4. Along with postfix. The deliver binary cannot deliver to large mailboxes. I cannot state an exact size limit but mbox mailboxes above 1GB seem to be affected. I have these in in postfix/main.cf mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver mailbox_size_limit = 5120000000 The user.log file shows these (I believe if no logging is

Deliver: command time exceed limit
We use Dovecot on a cluster (10'000 domains, 30'000 account) without any problem with pop/imap. We use Dovecot 1.0 RC10 Now we use virtual transport from postfix for mail delivery. We need the Dovecot LDA for sieve support. We test this solution on some domains with success. But if we change the configuration of all our domains, we have a lots of bounce with this error in postfix

Questions about deliver log files
Hi, I upgraded from Courier to dovecot, and now I try to rebuild some of the features I used to have. One was a monthly per user log of maildrop's work. I used this code in maildroprc: DATE=`date +%m` logfile "$MAILDIR/maildrop-$DATE.log" This created a monthly log in the each user's Maildir. I find it easier to have a log per user than having to filter the log entries

deliver LDA permission problem
Hello, I'm trying to get deliver LDA working with postfix in a virtual domain configuration. I'm using dovecot v1.0.rc10. My setup is pretty much exactly as in the wiki (only the path to deliver and auth-master socket are different). I'm having a little problem with permissions and this occurred which I think is undesirable: syslog: Feb 8 13:09:35

Somebody can help on this? System: Ubuntu server 8.10 dovecot --version 1.1.4 I filter for keywords in mail body with sieve. Mail is stored at lokal harddrive. I already deleted

deliver doesn't update cache index with mbox
Hello Timo, I'm having a problem with mbox that opening folder is slow when new mails are delivered to a folder. I'm delivering through the deliver program. Deliver updates index files but IHMO not completely correct. Therefore I compared index files before and after: 1.) Just delivered 2.) After accessing through imap via Thunderbird diff looks like (stripped down to the relevant

deliver without lookup
Hello friends! Is it possible to make deliver delivery a message without making a lookup using virtual users? I've read the section "Without a Lookup" (http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA) in the wiki but I can?t do the same thing in my config and I can?t figure this out. From the forum I found this thread ( http://www.mail-archive.com/dovecot at dovecot.org/msg02956.html) but didn't

deliver doesn't find adress/inbox
I'm trying to make dovecot 1.2.15, deliver, openLDAP, exim and fetchmail work together on an Debian Squeeze (virtual) maschine. The connection between dovecot and LDAP seems to be working, I can logon from Thunderbird (IMAP) and my maildir is created automatically. So far so good. But when I download the mails via fetchmail, it seems that deliver cannot find the correct mailbox for the

Hi all! This is my first posting to the list and I really could use some help in getting postfix using dovecot as virtual_transport. I get an error in dovecot-deliver.log that says "Can't connect to auth server at /var/spool/postfix/private/dovecot: Permission denied" Im using postfix as MTA with two virtual domains and virtual users. This is my dovecot -n output: # 1.1.11:

Postfix, mailbox_command, Dovecot deliver, LDAP and mail_location
I am trying to tell Dovecot deliver to use $mail_location as the location to store mail for system users. From the docs I've read <http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation> I believe this is possible, but mail to my system users always gets delivered to their /home/<USERNAME> homedirectory. Here's what I've done so far: # Postfix main.cf mailbox_command =

deliver failing to execute sendmail (sieve)
I have apparently done something to mess up my test installation, as deliver's attempts to send messages now fail with the following error: deliver(user at example.com): execv() failed: No such file or directory In these cases, I have sieve rules trying to send messages. It had been working though, and I've tried going through all the changes I made yesterday (related to dictionary

Dovecot deliver + sieve + postfix virtual + mysql ?
Hey there guys. I have successful postfix + mysql + sagator + clamav + spamassassin + dovecot setup (it was a really crazy month full of tweaking :]) and the only thing i miss is some per maildir specific filtering. i decided to use sieve. everything is fine except that dovecot's deliver process doesn't see the actual .dovecot.sieve file with filtering rules in the root of a maildir.

Postfix - deliver problem.
I really could use some help. I have been using dovecot and qmail on Debian for years with no problems. I just replaced qmail with Postfix and have not been able to get messages to dovecot via deliver. I have tried to set it up as a virtual mailbox only "no lookup necessary" system following the vaious help pages. I am using just a single user vmail:mail to execute postfix and
