Is it 1.0 yet?
OK - my last main bug was fixed a few releases ago. I know that there's
no end to getting things right but there comes a point when you need to
call it done. No one trusts a 1.0 to be perfect but Dovecot is already
better that most 2.0 versions of other software.
I vote (as if my vote counted) to call it done, declare victory, and
move on to 1.01, 1.02 etc. No one is going to trus it till

installing extlinux on a fresh system. Why does it fail ?
Thanks
I let GParted create the file system. It was done on a rescue disk of
Ubuntu 12.04 (GParted 0.11.0)
I think that the problem is in my command line.

installing extlinux on a fresh system. Why does it fail ?
Hi All,
I am trying to install extlinux on a fresh system.
Here are my steps :
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A) Create an ext2 partition. I did the following steps :
1) boot from CD
2) Activate GParted
3) Create Partition table on the "fresh disk" (/dev/sda).
4) Create 1 ext2 partition (and mark its flag as "boot").
B)mkdir /mnt/Ext2_partition
C) mount /dev/sda1

No, isn't. but you have to try; 'cos, in my opinion, of course, you
won't login in bdc;
but, the roaming profiles (home directory) must be in pdc;
if that works, you will try set (in bdc):
logon path = \\PDC\blablabla... (for win

Changing the PATH from the command line
I am not very experienced with the MSDOS command line
and even less so with wine.
I am working on a realtime embedded C project and must,
for the time being, use DOS command line tools. Since
my work environment for decades has been Unix and Unix-like,
I am trying to get the tool set to run under Wine on Hardy.
I have solved several problems, but now I need to reset
the path. I have a .bat

LSI MegaRAID system status
Dear list,
I have inherited a CentOS-5 box with a LSI Sata Raid controller.
It is configured as a RAID5 w/hot-standby. My concern is that
I have no present means of determining the RAID status w/o
downing the system and going into the bios to get status. If
a disk has failed and brought the standby disk online, I would
like to know about it, the day it happens by seeing it in syslog
or getting

User friendly vacation service

I maintain a few small sendmail/dovecot/procmail based
mail servers with system users only (no virtual domains
or virtual users) on OpenBSD.
I have been able to get a vacation system working with
both with the native vacation program from OpenBSD and
with procmail. I've been looking into dovecot sieve,
but it doesn't appear to solve the bigger user complaint

Reading the index / log files
Dear Dovecot,
I have a user who claims his mail is being lost.
I can find the message marked as having been accepted
for delivery in the maillog. I am hoping there is
a tool which will let me read his IMAP transactions.
We are delivering the messages with procmail and
storing them as Maildir files.
I read mail on this very same server and process
about 500 mails per day. (Its the machine where

kind soul point me to a document, Please.

OT: DHCP address pool for specific MAC manufacturer
Dear CentOS,
This is somewhat off-topic, but I do hope to implement this on
a CentOS system, so here goes...
I would like to be able to setup a dhcpd (or like) daemon to
maintain two IP address pools. One for devices whose leading
three octets of the client MAC address are specified and the
other for all other clients. Both pools would be a defined
range on a commmon /24 subnet. There a
